wow so this is happening... I stand to get at least $2.25!

maybe this will pay for my black sabbath ticket...

It is pretty lame.  I think you get a certain dollar amount off per order.  So keep buying tickets and you will get the money we overcharged you back.  Before June 18, there will most likely be a rise in cost for "handling fees" with ticketmaster that will even out the credit.

Yes, I got it last week.  I should expect up to a maximum of 17 codes, which I'm certain I will qualify for without a problem.

same here.  the period covered by this suit corresponds with my peak in concert attendance.  17 total?  i did more than that per year.

so you can't combine all the codes into one to get a free ticket? that does not do much for me then...

There's a bit of a rub here.  If not enough people use their codes to total $10.5 million, then some folks will get 2 free tickets to a LiveNation event.  Of course, who knows if that means you get two free tickets to a show you actually want to see or not.

I haven't read the full decision, but I will use some, but not all of my codes to hedge my bets.

Apparently, there are discounts for UPS fees they charged as well.

Quote
You?re one of 50 million people eligible to get yours from the loathed ticket giant. Starting June 18, your Ticketmaster account might sprout one or more of the following:

- A discount code for each Ticketmaster purchase you made between Oct. 21, 1999, and Feb. 27, 2013 ($2.25 off future purchases)

- A UPS discount code for each Ticketmaster purchase you had shipped with UPS in that time period (worth $5 off future purchases)

 - A ticket code for each of those purchases, redeemable for two free tickets to concerts at venues operated by Live Nation (which bought Ticketmaster in 2009)?if, that is, class members don?t redeem enough discount codes

EDIT:

Per the FAQ, (http://www.ticketfeelitigation.com/faq.php#Q17) you can use up to two codes per transaction.  You have until June of 2020 to use your codes.

You don't need it.  The codes will appear in your TM online account.

I've got the same as y'all do, a bunch of those "$2.25 off's", one that gives me $5.00 off IF I choose UPS to deliver my tickets and a bunch of those free GA tix.... the problem for me will be just how many GA shows I would actually be interested in that use LiveNation/Ticketmaster as their ticketing agent.... waiting for that list of eligible shows.....

It finally stopped experiencing technical difficulties and I have 17 free vouchers and 17 discount vouchers.  The site that lists shows available is now experiencing technical difficulties, but I tried the code on Dead and Company this Thursday at Jiffy Lube Live and Death From Above 1979 at Fillmore.  0 for 2 on the free tickets working.  There are a TON of tickets still available for Dead and Company, I mean every section has 7-10 rows of completely empty seats.  I have a feeling the free tickets will only work for tribute bands.

Nice username... I think the list of events hasn't been updated yet. A list will come out with all the "eligible events". I've tried clicking on the link from Ticketmaster and Live Nation and nothing. I'd suggest signing up for those updates.

so many people, I know, are talking about this, as if it is, the greatest thing or most crooked thing the company has done for its "fans."  I have always thought that ticket companies were like any company making a buck for someone in this age of personal and private capitalism, and should not be shunned.  But I look at it from the perspective of someone who does not use one company only primarily to buy tickets, when I do go to shows, which isn't as often as some people.  I am the type of person, that knows people are working at those ticket companies, and they 'gotta get paid, just as do the management and owners, so I never minded paying an extra charge to pay those people.  I am not a fan of the price of beers or food at venues, either, but I still consume them while I am there.

I just hope I can figure out how to use this the next time I try to buy a ticket, or try to find something to go see.  I'll go see pretty much about anything to get out of the house nowadays.

I'm totally confused on how this actually works

I've got 17, but the rub is you can only use them on "eligible events"
I can't even find an eligible event

also can you combine them all or are you only able to use 1 per event

I was hoping to pick up a Decendents ticket, but didn't look like it was eligible

I'm not going to see Mac Sabbath, even for free

we'll be LUCKY if we can use those for lawn at pavillions... without getting charged so many ticket charges that it makes it a moot point.. I'm not holding my breath but yeah I would like a lawn ticket for Def Leppard, Black Sabbath, etc..

given the stories of these codes appearing and disappearing, i've copied them all so i'm not dependent on TM.com's whims (not that these codes are actually usable for much).

and that microsite that lists eligible events - wtf?  450 events and we're expected to scroll through the list?  how about some effing filters or a search function, ya asswipes?

with 450 entries (and that number is likely to rise), sorting isn't a good solution.  but i suspect they aren't going for user friendliness.  if people can't find shows to use the codes on, all the better for TM.  throw up those obstacles!

I'm happy to sit on the lawn if I don't give a shit about the music... but that's about it.

That said, I will still, no doubt, use virtually none of these since they're lawn tickets.

exactly.  if i'm going through the trouble to schlepping out to some shed in the middle of nowhere, for an act i'm interested in seeing, i'm going to shell out for a decent seat.  if i lived around the corner from one of the venues then i could see myself swinging by to quickly check out a show... given the hassle of getting to, and in and out of, nissan/lube, it's just nope.

This code is potentially redeemable for two General Admission tickets for certain Live Nation concert events subject to availability and limitations. Please be aware that due to limited availability, we expect these settlement ticket codes to be redeemed quickly.

no.. either you are not scrolling down and seeing the other ones or they are just not showing up for you right now but they will.. presumably you should have the same number of both codes...up to 17 codes of each (the 2.25 discount codes and the free ticket codes)

Yeah, the list has changed significantly since this morning.

I made out pretty good this morning tho.

I got 2 lawn tix for Sabbath at the Lube.

But the real interesting score was Prophets of Rage in Camden. I was thinking of going for 4 lawn tix to take my brothers who live up there. When I tried for tix, I landed GA PIT tix. I tried the voucher and it worked! I got 2 free PIT tix and then did another voucher and got 2 more. That's almost $350 in free tix! Not too shabby.

I guess what we learned is GA can include GA Pit? In bright red it reads:

Please Note

Ticket voucher codes can be used on eligible general admission tickets. Limit 2 General Admission tickets per voucher.

As part of the settlement,

Ticketmaster agreed to provide all members of the class a $2.25 credit on the future purchase of primary tickets for each transaction over the class period, for up to 17 claims.

In addition, a $5 UPS voucher was made available to members of the class who had used UPS delivery during the class period, again to a maximum of 17 claims.

Also Ticketmaster agreed to provide $5 million in ticket vouchers for select Live Nation concerts through May 2017, subject to availability and a cap of 17 claims per account. Given the tremendous initial interest for these tickets, Ticketmaster will increase to $10 million its allotment of tickets made available through May 2017. The potential for additional tickets will be based on the redemption rates of the discount and UPS vouchers.

I think people are getting confused about "Discount Vouchers" ($2.50) and "Ticket Vouchers" (2 free tickets to select shows.

You have until 2020 to use your discounts.  You have until $10.5m to use your ticket vouchers.

Here's why I jumped on half my ticket vouchers:

"Also Ticketmaster agreed to provide $5 million in ticket vouchers for select Live Nation concerts through May 2017, subject to availability and a cap of 17 vouchers per account. Each voucher is potentially redeemable for two eligible General Admission tickets for certain Live Nation concert events subject to availability and limitations. The potential for additional tickets will be based on the redemption rates of the discount and UPS vouchers." http://www.ticketfeelitigation.com/faq.php#Q2

They were pretty clear about it.

it is a crock of shit.. they give vouchers they never intend to allow you to redeem.. its moronic.. why give people vouchers for something you will not provide?

and its going to be WAY harder to redeem them for the next and final round cause everybody will have wised up that the vouchers are essentially worthless unless you beat out everybody else in redeeming them

glad i redeemed 4... not sure there was much else i wanted .. the offerings in the DC area sucked compared to some other markets...

If you read a couple of pages back, they take 5 years to expire OR when Ticketmaster has given away $10million in tickets, whichever happens first. Apparently they announced this second big batch of shows they've released will be the last ones as they're closing in on that 10mil mark.

I decided to just dump all my vouchers on stuff before they expired. Lets see what I can make in the secondary market.

Don't these take five years to expire or something like that?
If you read a couple of pages back, they take 5 years to expire OR when Ticketmaster has given away $10million in tickets, whichever happens first. Apparently they announced this second big batch of shows they've released will be the last ones as they're closing in on that 10mil mark.

oh shite... oh well.
It took me about 45 minutes to use all my codes. I figure it'll take that long to put them on stubhub and if I can even average $10/ticket, it's $340 for 1.5 hours of work.

All I am seeing is that every single show is already sold out with the codes. And I don't even have any codes in my account yet.

Who wants to join a new class action lawsuit on Ticketmaster not honoring its vouchers?

Just passed the $300 mark (and counting) on flipping these tickets on Craigslist, even after offering everyone on my Facebook any of them for free (or in exchange for a drink). If the rest of them go as these have, I should come out just under $500, which will make me utterly, utterly pleased.

I never used any of my ticket vouchers or discount codes, IIRC.  The list of events eligible for using the ticket vouchers is empty.  I think you can use the discount codes on any ticketmaster purchase...

I was hoping for more from his first four solo albums and four Faces albums.. you know.. the stuff that MADE his career?!?!

I don't need to hear Rhythm of Love or the heart or Young Turks or Forever Young..

I mean I'm ok with some of the cheezy stuff but its like 18 out of 21 songs.. .way overrepresented....

I forgot about those $2.25 discounts codes too
only buy a few TM tix a year, but that will cover the tip on my $15 beer

I also was able to buy multiple to the same show
reached out to some fishbone fans...now i have 8 free tickets

I think some of my vouchers disappeared since this started...but I sill have like 6 left and they expire 2020

Also, I didn't get any lube tix...as last time I didn't end up going to any of the free ones

I noticed the 80s show at the warner sold out quick

Forgot I have about 12 of these vouchers so I picked up:

Brad Paisley - Wife likes horrible POP country stuff so she can go with a friend.
Lil' Xan - I think the kiddos love this guy so I'm hoping it sells out so I can make some $$.

That was it.
