Anybody go a really long time between seeing somebody the first time and the second time?
I think my best or should I say worst is 20.5 years.
-
U2 - saw em in 87 and again when they played Baltimore 3 (4?, 5?) years ago
-
16 years for Ani Difranco is currently my record.
-
Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, I think I've only seen them twice, wish I had seen the much more:
April 28, 1997, Cat's Cradle, Chapel Hill, NC
August 21, 2016, Maymont, Richmond, VA

i went over 20 years (23?) between seeing rollins perform. first several times were as a teenager, late 80's (and early 90's), rollins band played community centers and universities several times in my hometown. next saw him perform (spoken word) at his 50th b-day thingy in 2011.
if we want to keep it to purely musical performances, i went 19 years between seeing soundgarden: lollapalooza 1992 to patriot center in 2011.

21 years apart seeing Mr. Big (open for Rush, than at M3). Yeah, so uncool, I know.
Oh, wait - 22 years apart seeing Joan Jett. Much better.

Feelies 1986 - 2011

Jane's Addiction -- 1988 first time, 2016 second time

A performer/musician who has continuously been performing? Are we including bands that broke up or were inactive?
Either way, 21 years for me: Stone Roses and Lloyd Cole both win that award.

I havent seen Iron Maiden since...1987??
Still working on that streak!
-
wow...lots of good ones!... I saw the Dandy Warhols last night and had not seen them since I saw them open for Love and Rockets at the 930 Club in 1996.. so that is my record.... I'm in my 40s and I didn't really start going to shows much until about 1994 so its kind of hard to top 20 years for me....

living colour in 1991 (twice, once was the first Lollapalooza) and again in 2016

Off the top of my head, I think the answer in Blink-182 and 15 years. (In neither instance was Blink-182 the band I went to the concert to see.)

Feelies 1986 - 2011
When The Feelies hit the 930 stage in 2009, I was trying to remember how long it had been, then Brenda said "Thanks for waiting 18 years."

The Church - 11/23/84 (my first show at 9:30) - 8/9/15 Fillmore Silver Spring - almost 31 years.
AC/DC - 12/21/81 Capital Centre - 11/15/08 - Verizon Center - almost 27 years.
There are a handful of others over the 20 year mark.
