Anyone get emails or have info on when doors open, if you have to be in by a certain time (for the iheartradio gig tonight), other logistics?
Asking for both nights, which will differ, of course.

Doors for tonight's Iheartradio gig are 7:00. That's all it said in the email that was forwarded to me.
-
The Anthem site shows 6:30 doors, 8:00 show for tomorrow.
-
The iheartradio broadcast starts at 9:00, so that's helpful info.

Are cell phones going to be locked in a baggie upon entry? That was mentioned in the General forum, and while I get that for a comedy show, or something that folks don't want videos to be released, everyone pretty much knows what happens at a Foo show!
Thanks for the help, lots of coordination with the big Nats game tonight.
-
FWIW, I read that cell phone thing as a joke. Also a joke, the people who were actually already in line at 7am...
-
Metro open an hour later; PEPCO parent company Exelon paying the bill b/c Nats game.
-
This ensures I'll be on Metro tonight!

It's happened around town, so not all that crazy an idea. But, makes little sense for Foo when you think about the reasoning.

I have no idea if the cell phone pouch thing is a joke or not, but the Foo Fighters are known as being pretty controlling about photographs of their performances.

Huh!

People are nuts. That show was FAR from sold out, and no one thought it would be. I was in row "four" and I showed up at 8:50.

What does this mean -- does the ticketholder have be there, or can the guest get numbers??
-
There are two lines and everyone is confused down here because of those placeholder red tickets. Conflicting info from door staff.
Anyone from IMP who can explain who should be standing where? For real?
I don't want to get screwed standing in the wrong line.
-
I would hit up the Anthem's twitter

Seth doesn’t see why you need to know which line to be in.
-
Just go to the brixton. Drink until 8. No more lines!
-
Per the Foo's Twitter feed
See you tonight @TheAnthemDC !!!
7:20P Big Tony & Trouble Funk
8:30P @TheStruts
9:30P FF

I just wanted to comment that I had a fantastic time at the show last night
sound was awesome, band was on point and the best venue in dc
I am so happy for the random acts of kindness from FWB!
Glad Dave and co did a full two hour set last night, kinda thought we'd only get 45 mins of songs and some interviews
pleasantly surprised
also...I am happier going last night as it was about 3/4 full
tonight will be butts to nuts packed
also it was Free...not $100, so that made it that much sweeter
in the future, I'm definitely ride-sharing
took like 30 minutes to get out of the garage and cost $20

so glad julian wasn't stinking the place up with his negativity

butts to nuts packed
this is my new fav expression. although "nuts to butts" makes more sense to me, logically; but doesn't roll off the tongue quite as easily. dammit.

Great Foos show.
Packed Ns to Bs for sure.
Folks got a little unhappy over by stage left when one dude decided to mosh/slam aggressively at the start of "monkeyranch." Marine looking patron took moshguy down very quickly, and handed bewildered moshguy over the staph.
Fuck AT&T. No signal at all. folks with T-Mobile were streaming the Nats game with perfect clarity and I cannot even text to get in communication with friends at the show.
Three more notes:
I am old and tired.
Boilen and Bagley are doppelgangers.

Cell service was also terrible for me with Verizon. Walked out of the venue only to discover several messages from The Director that were too late. :(
-
Couldn't connect to the wifi either, probably overloaded. They ditched the "name must match ticket" policy at some point, probably took too long with the mass of people. I wonder which side of the venue was quicker to enter. Facing the front, I was to the right. I would guess that the other side was probably quicker, I didn't know that was an option.

Got a Poster. The regular posters were a series of 300. There were also "foil variants" in a set of 100. I got there too late for the foil variant; and that's fine.

I had no service with Sprint on Sunday, not even roaming. But last night I had 3G, start to finish.

The left side was so much quicker that around 7:00 staph started sending folks from the right side line over to the left side. In future, always go left (in front of the Brixton).
-
Yeah, I was among the crowd that was pulled from the back of the right line to the front of the left line. That was an unexpected bonus!
-
Two fantastic shows. It was a joy to have been able to be there Wednesday with a smaller crowd. But what the hell, it's the Foos, so it was also fun being packed in last night and bouncing around.
I love the venue. Big, but feels like a club, not an arena.
No wifi, no cell except behind the soundboard (I have Verizon).
Bit of a bar fail; took 26 minutes to get beer at the bar on the second level, stage left. Discussed with friends, would make a HUGE difference if you could just swipe and go. Which would mean adding tip automatically, which I know would make some people losing their minds. But, having each patron sign a receipt takes a lot of time and creates some chaos.

hey seth -
perhaps look into those stand-alone card swipers like they have at most grocery* check-outs these days? add a tip on the pin-pad, sign on the screen using the "electronic pen"... and sell more beer, faster, to happier customers.
* i'm assuming that you actually frequent grocery stores... if not, ask your butler/personal shopper about it.
-
Did they check ID's against the name on the tickets to get in?
-
Yes. They're not doing that for tonight's LCDSS show, tho.
-
(They will check your ID for drinking age, and either issue you a wristband or stamp your hand.)
-
Did they check ID's against the name on the tickets to get in?
They did not check names on tix against IDs at FoosThursday; at least not mine. Just checked IDs for age.
-
would have been easy to sell a tix then
but good they made people think they had to be on the tix so the secondary market couldn't kill them
-
Whoa.
