why, why, WHY, IN GODS NAME, DID THEY HAVE TO MAKE THE KINGS OF LEON SHOW 18+??????
WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I feel your pain. I couldn't go to a show because it was 21+. Hang in there :)

Youth is wasted on the young.

Despite all my rage, I am STILL just a rat in a cage.

I think I actually own Doc Martens that are older than you.

I most certainly do!

Don't worry, I'm sure the guys in the band will still have sex with you and your little sister.
-
...just thinking, is anyone over 18 actually going to want to see this band?
-
good point, they seem boring live like they do on an album, rolling dust would be more interesting to me than those bastard Kings

I was thinking the same thing but then realized bad taste has no age limit.

that made my day. really, it did. it's so true.
except i wouldn't do one of those little STD-machines if my life depended on it.
i'm surprised to see that a lot of you guys don't like KOL. i guess they are kind of hit or miss; you either love 'em or hate 'em.
i've seen them twice live. the first time was when they were at the black cat, and it was one of the best live shows i've ever been to...really great energy, really fun crowd, everybody was dancing and having a good time.
the second time i saw them open for u2 and they really were disappointing. i've missed the last two 9:30 shows due to the first one selling out and the second being while i was in LA; so i'm curious as to whether their live show has gone downhill (/their ego's have replaced their live show) since the first time i saw them.
-
when is/was this show that you are talking about? i've seen them three times and liked them each time.
-
it's at sonar, on the 24th of september i believe...?
-
i didn't know someone else was younger then me...damn...
-
I couldn't even go to shows when I was your age. God, I sound old.
And, I do have a pair of docs older than you. So, see, it could be worse.
-
When I was your age we had to walk sixteen miles through dark snowy woods if we wanted to see a show!
-
be lucky in many cities clubs like the 9:30 and Black Cat are always 18+
wasn't the last Las Vegas sponsored show with Collective Soul a bit of train wreck because of all the non-musical nonsense taking place during the show?
it would appear KOL is in the process of cashing out having past their sellby date....

You're only 15?

heh.
Ya know, when I was 16 I was in a band that got to open at a "three bands for three bucks" show at the 9:30. And the club was courteous enough to do for us what it did for any band: bring us a case of beer whilst we hung out backstage between sets. Something tells me that wouldn't happen now. :)
-
tee hee...yes, i'm only fifteen.
and i have a pair of purple docs
-
Smackie, repeat after me, "Jailbait. Jailbait. Jailbait."
Good little Smackie. ;)
Keep repeating....

Watch out for this guy!

Stray Cat Blues Lyrics
(M. Jagger/K. Richards)
I hear the click-clack of your feet on the stairs
I know you're no scare-eyed honey.
There'll be a feast if you just come upstairs
But it's no hanging matter
It's no capital crime
I can see that you're fifteen years old
No I don't want your I.D.
You look so rest-less and you're so far from home
But it's no hanging matter
It's no capital crime
Oh yeah, you're a strange stray cat
Oh yeah, don'tcha scratch like that
Oh yeah, you're a strange stray cat
Bet your mama don't know you scream like that
I bet your mother don't know you can spit like that.
You look so weird and you're so far from home
But you don't really miss your mother
Don't look so scared I'm no mad-brained bear
But it's no hanging matter
It's no capital crime
Oh, yeah
Woo!
I bet your mama don't know that you scatch like that
I bet she don't know you can bite like that.
You say you got a friend, that she's wilder than you
Why don't you bring her upstairs
If she's so wild then she can join in too
It's no hanging matter
It's no capital crime
Oh yeah, you're a strange stray cat
Oh yeah, don'tcha scratch like that
Oh yeah, you're a strange stray cat
I bet you mama don't know you can bite like that
I'll bet she never saw you scratch my back

Jagger is such a bad influence on the 40-50 year old gender set :)

you mean 50-65?
-
heh... I misread that and thought you said Jaguar. :D
I think the only reason Mick got away with lyrics like that (not to mention "Brown Sugar") is that nobody could understand his thick southeastern accent...

It's always good to have your friends around to keep you out of trouble....

smackie must have been that drunk man of african-american descent that was hitting on me and complimenting my legs the other night outside of the club.
either that; or mick jagger is the new michael jackson...and i mean that to it's full extent of potential; race reversal included.
this guy really knew how to lay on the moves too
and by that i mean he really did start dancing...
oh 9:30 9:30 9:30
i love when you guys crack teenage girl jokes. anybody else would probably be skeeved out right about now; but i just find it oh-so highly amusing...

Sorry to dispappoint, despite the fact that I could dunk a basketball in high school, I couldn't be further from African-American. I make Scandanavians look tan.
And I rarely compliment on legs, though I appreciate a really nice pair. I'm more of a T & A kind of guy.
That being said, I am good for a teen joke or two.
