Melissa Etheridge - FOUR nights @ 9:30

I was perusing Pollstar, and Melissa Etheridge is listed to play for four nights at the 9:30 Club: Thurs through Sun, March 25 - 28.
 
 Holy COW.  And I think I'll go to one of 'em.  I loved her first couple of albums, before her little secret became so defining.  "Brave and Crazy" is fantastic.

I looked her up, and she's playing three to five shows at House of Blues, LA; The Fillmore, San Fran; House of Blues, Chicago; House of Blues, Anaheim; and someplace in Denver for two nights.

 I (1) simply found the long run interesting, and (2) it goes back to '89, '90 for me -- part of my jangle pop life included huge dedication to Ms. Etheridge and the Indigo Girls.  A couple of those albums were just so important to me as I left college and was scared shitless about the rest of my life.

 I had no idea that there were that many lesbians in the area. (Bags excluded.       ) It's always seemed that most of the Gays were men. Nice to know the balance of Straights and Gays may be more even then I had thought. It's bad enough that we women already out number the men around here.
