Any interesting shows going on in NYC this weekend? i'm going to be there, but too lazy to research shows (that I probably won't go to).

Thanks, that's the one place I did check.

There's an LIC/Sand City collab beer being release at LIC Saturday which sounds up your alley...but we'll liekly be in Queens on Friday only....

Hamilton?

Sorry, just started contributing to my over-50 401K catch-up account.

any free bossa shows would not be in a place that would handle kids well... that is the issue... and of course they do tend to not be free...

It's okay, overrated anyway.

One of the few free things I did in NYC recently: tour the NY Public Library. Very cool, from a time when books were a thing.

For around $30, the rolling stones "exhibitionism" was a fun couple of hours.

Shouldn't be too bad in the cold weather.

for those attending the church of the cloud cult:

Hi Friends,

We've been working hard over the last few months putting together a concert experience that we've dreamed about manifesting for over a decade. Now, to celebrate the coming June digital release of The Seeker, to iTunes, Google Play, Amazon and Vimeo we're thrilled to announce a few special show dates around the U.S. where we will perform the full score of The Seeker while the film plays on screen, followed by a second set of fan favorites!

We don't anticipate doing this kind of performance again, and we were fortunate to see most of these cities sell out last year when we came around, so grab your tickets now:

?    June 1: Chicago - House of Blues
    ?    June 2: Madison - Majestic Theater

    ?    June 9: Minneapolis - Northrop
    ?    June 10: La Crosse - Artspire
?    June 23: New York City - Music Hall of Williamsburg

    ?    June 26: Boston - Sinclair

?    June 27: Philadelphia - World Cafe Live
    ?    August 3: Portland - Aladdin
    ?    August 4: Seattle - Neptune

Despacio brings its eight-hour vinyl-only odysseys to New York March 29, 30 and 31 at the Knockdown Center in Queens.

Conceived by James Murphy (LCD Soundystem, DFA Records) and David and Stephen Dewaele (Soulwax, 2manydjs), Despacio creates an experience like no other.

James, David & Stephen will be behind the decks for three daily eight-hour sessions from 8pm to 4am throughout Despacio’s run at the Knockdown Center.

Tickets will be on sale the public as of 12 noon EST Friday, March 2. For further information, go to https://www.ticketfly.com/event/1653155

(apparently they build a custom sound system that is the best in the world, like no other, etc etc etc)
