I'm assuming the headliner is going to be Vampire Weekend seeing as how they've played pretty much everywhere except DC/Baltimore.

What if they held FreeFest on Sunday, Sept. 22?

That could potentially free up quite a few bands who would be in Atlanta (or touring reasonably close) the same weekend: QOTSA, Arctic Monkeys, Vampire Weekend, Mumford & Sons, Phoenix, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Chvrches.
I'd cum inside my own pants and someone elses pants if that was a FREE day long festival. Minus Mumford and Phoenix.

Invisible Dragons on the main stage from 12-10 you guys, let's face facts.

remind me . . . to stay away from you before incredible concerts.

"Mark your calendars: It appears we have a date for the 2013 edition of the Virgin Mobile FreeFest.
Ernest Greene, who performs as chillwave producer Washed Out, announced a slew of tour dates to promote his second full-length Paracosm. As it turns out, one of those dates is at Merriweather Post Pavilion as part of FreeFest, which appears to be taking place on Saturday, Sept. 21.
Nothing has been officially announced by Virgin Mobile or I.M.P. Productions, the concert promoter which books Merriweather Post Pavilion, as
their sites still read that date announcements are "coming soon." But for now, thanks to some premature tour confirmation, there is is a date and at least one confirmed act."

I didn't see this posted yet.

I'll take Hall and Oates or Journey over a blockhead hard rock band like QOTSA any day.

Maybe the Washed Out date was off by a day. According to this, QOTSA Saturday in Atlanta:

http://www.accessatlanta.com/weblogs/atlanta-music-scene/2013/jun/17/music-midtown-announces-lineup/

which would give them Sunday for MPP.

Also, the MPP date was removed from the WAshed Out site, right?
