Gotye

He's pretty much the Edwyn Collins of his generation.  That's all you need  to know.

That is quite a compliment.  As Edwyn Collins's band Orange Juice along with the band Aztec Camera basically created the indie rock genre.

I don't know a thing about those bands...just that horrible girl like you song that was inescapable.

That said, to say that those bands or any bands created the indie rock genre is pretty hilarious.  Nice one!

"A Girl Like You" was one of the best singles of the 90s, inescapable or otherwise.

"A Girl Like You" was one of the best singles of the 90s, inescapable or otherwise.

It was annoying, to me, by virtue of it's prevalence.  But yeah, it was a good single.

"but I never met a girl like you before"
"you didn't have to cut me off"

These occupy the same space in my brain somehow.

Mostly I'm just talking shit.  I don't care, nor do I hate, on either of these two.

Good one, hutch.  We must've been standing next to you with Mould at G-town.  I remember it clearly - him sitting there puffing away.  And inside when he plugged in my ears exploded.

small world shemp!

also wanted to say Roger Moutenot who produced/s Yo La Tengo's stuff has done superlative work..those Yo La albums sound amazing. Not sure why his services aren't more in demand.. Alan Moulder parlayed his early work in the 90s into a solid gig including Nine Inch Nails.

what is the difference between "general admission" and "floor seating" at the patriot center? it says the floor is general admission with no seats, but they're two different price levels. is there any other "general admission" part of the venue?

Neil show is entirely GA on the floor, maybe there are seats or it's just an open floor, not sure?

For anyone conflicted about Bob Mould and the Mission of Burma shows, Bob should wrap up by 10:30 and you should have enough time to catch MOB. Both are doable.

That was what I was figuring. Blowoff is the second Saturday of each month.

Will be a nice swift jog to the BC though.

Bob starts with Copper Blue. If you miss one or 2 encores of Bob's set, you'll easily be able to catch MOB. But it's a little weird that they're not on the same bill. There's a lot of overlap there.

Seth, thanks for the Afghan Whigs! Last time I saw them was at least 13 years ago. This will be fun.

Got My Jesus and Mary Chain tickets!!!! Saw them last in 1985 at the old 930 club.  They hadn't even released an album yet.  27 year gap in seeing band is a personal record.

Am I the only one surprised that the JAMC show wasn't an instant sellout?

None of the other dates are instant sellouts...in fact, none have sold out.

Am I the only one surprised that the JAMC show wasn't an instant sellout?
