I had my preadmission blood work, chest xray, and ekg today.  They discovered that I am still alive, woo hoo!  Thank you all for the well wishes.  It is kind of a scary thing to have to go through, but like I said before, maybe this time they will get ALL of the evil spirits out.  Besides, you left wing nut job liberal socialists can't get rid of me THAT easily!  BTW, just so you all know, that was said not only in jest, but in total respect for all of you and your individual views.  Kudos to all for coming in here and caring enough to share your views and even more so caring enough to register and vote.  Thank you all very much.  I'll see you again in a week or two.  Thank god it will be without all of these damn meds!

Truly amazing chutzpah from Netanyahu but nothing new. If the Prime Minister of Israel genuinely feels Israel needs to attack Iran to defend itself from the possibility that Iran will develop nuclear weapons which it might then use against Israel (knowing full well Israel will annihilate them in 5 nanoseconds), I don't think anyone begrudges them that right. They certainly don't need to ask anyone! Unfortunately he is inserting himself in the middle of the US presidential elections on September 11th and 56 days before voting but I guess that is a coincidence as were his warm comments about candidate Mitt Romney. I guess over 60 years of solid backing for the Israeli state just doesn't buy you much these days. I do think its fair to say we've had Israel's back but hey...

OK folks this is it.  I am off to bed in a few moments then into the hos[ital tomorrow morning.  I am drinking my last Mt Dew for a while right now.  I'd be telling a lie if I said I was not least a little scared, but I know that I am in the hands of a great doc and that I have many people sending good karma my way.  I don't want to be all mellow dramatic or anything, but if something does happen and my number gets called over all of this I do want to say thanks one last time to everyone here, especially Walky.  You and I don't agree on tings but I really think if we were ever to just sit down and talk face to face we might be surprised on how much we do agree and I know we would much more understand and respect the differences.  Remember man like I told you in an email long ago, no hate...  My final thought for tonight is to thank Josh publicly.  My friend you have given me and my dad so many great times and memories over the last few years as he and I are reuniting.  Never forget that sometimes even the small things you do can deeply touch others.  You are a very good man and my life is much better for being able to count you among my friends.

See y'all in a week or two...

Unless Frank is one of those so concerned about the deficit but feels its necessary to spend far more than we do on the military and tax cuts for the wealthy.

Also, I can't see how President Obama will ever be remembered as the worst president. Just for taking out Osama Bin Laden alone- and as Commander in Chief he will get the credit in the history books like it or not- he would be placed above many others. A lot will have to do with whether he can win reelection but it is certainly possible he will (betting markets are betting he will defeat Romney), despite the economy, it is not hard to envision a scenario where the US economy strengthens and his legacy is burnished. Health Care Reform would be preserved and fully implemented and would go down in US history as a major accomplishment. In addition, he would have extricated the country out of two long wars, etc. etc. Supposing no terrorist attacks on US soil in the next four years, under this scenario, President Obama would be remembered as one of the greats.

Frank, I really am going to need some better reasons for why President Obama is the worst president in history. If you don't give me any I won't be able to help, and I know it can't be true, thinking you're one of those wackjobs on the right who just plain hate him because of, well you know....
This may well be wishful thinking at this point but it could happen.  ;D

Add to this the electrical grid in this country is being completed overhauled and upgraded.  It's the ultimate example of a very expensive project that most people will never notice and will only see the price tag on the administration.

I remember that east coast blackout a while back, and the one in India recently that knocked out power to 20% of the worlds population.  Electrical grids are quite fragile and quite expensive and ours has gotten a serious facelift lately which should contribute to this administrations legacy, but probably won't.

I am home. EXTREMELY weak but ion the mend.  Every part of me is sore, especially the incision site in the back of my head, as well as my back and knees where most of my surgical implants over the years have been.  Go back to the doctor on Friday to get staples and stitches out.  Will know more then.  Funny thing is I had to keep talking him down to weaker and weaker pain killers for the prescription he wanted to write me.  He did comment that everyone else who want something different had wanted stronger.  I was the first ever to make him go milder by quite a dress on the pain killers.  No way in hell I was taking any more oxy or percocet.  Anyway I am back off to sleep for several more hours.  Talk to y'all again in a few days...  (Go Eagles)

Woo hoo! The Rat is back! Very happy you pulled through the operation okay. I, for one, was worried about you.

We many not always see eye to eye on everything but you are one of us and that was enough to get me all concerned. Hope your recovery is fast and smooth and that you are back in action in no time flat.

My random thought contribution...ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET

On Saturday, my daughter and I went shopping at Giant. We proceeded to participate in some kind of silly treasure hunt game they had set up. At the end, you turned in your game card and they checked it to see if you were the grand prize winner. All the while, my daughter was skipping through the store proclaiming that we were going to be the winners. I tried to explain to her to not get too excited, that only one shopper all day could be the winner.

We checked out, she took the card up, and voila, we were the grand prize winners of $400 in Giant gift cards. Guess I need to take my daughter lottery ticket shopping.

Then a couple hours later, just to prove that life aint too grand, I flipped over my mountain bike handlebars, broke my spare pair of eyeglasses i was wearing, and fractured my rib. Could have been much worse, as I hit the ground head first, but my helmet saved me.
