so whats wrong with the Orioles? they have the worst record of any division leader in baseball.

haha. They're stuck in the AL East. Still the best division in baseball, if your metric is combining records of teams in that division.

Too bad they've already played nine of their 15 against the Rays.

All that matters is the loss column. In the AL it's 36-36-36.  You can win more games but you can never lose fewer.

Sorry about your Angels pitcher...

I was talking about Wright hitting 3 batters including Cron twice, breaking Cron's hand the second time.  He's out at least a month.

He didn't charge the mound.  Probably because his hand was already broken. #effective

From a numbers perspective, it's the same "problem" the O's had when they made the playoffs a few years ago - they're nearly last in starting rotation ERA, and they are dead last in innings from their starting pitchers.  All things I harped on last time and was proven wrong when they held on and I'm sure the O's brass think the same will happen again this year.  But normally, poor starting pitching and over reliance on the long ball are a recipe for disaster.

Trade him to the Cubs so he can reach his full potential.

Indeed. Both Arrieta and Hammel both have hideous beards.

And now they have the best record in the AL.  Means about as much now as it did then.

Home/Road splits mean they have to win the division, and do what they can for home field throughout.

Ideally.  Or just get better on the road.

Brian Matusz called up to start for the Cubs tonight.  A nice performance and maybe they'll trade him back to you?

Day 1 of that experiment doesn't seem to be going well.
