Ah. I don't really follow any of that stuff. I follow AV Club on Twitter, but it doesn't ring a bell. I could see how it would have been ruined by hype. I try to get to that kind of stuff before that wave comes. I saw Interstellar the night before it came out and I'm glad I did. The panning that movie got, to me, was a little crazy.

I don't really go to the movies very often, maybe twice a year. (Will be going for Inherent Vice.) I pay for all the streaming service/pay channels so I generally wait until films come to that.

Kosmo and I will be pleased. I really think its interesting this trend of prestige "recurring" anthology series [Fargo, True Detective, The Missing] where each season shares a general theme/mood but with (relatively) unconnected plots and (relatively) no shared characters. Its bizarre that we have Ryan Murphy's insipid American Horror Story to thank for making it popular for American audiences.

It really is a great combination of not wearing out a story for the sake of keeping a hit on and yet still being able to make a marketable commodity for the network. Art and commerce co-existing.

Melanoma is easily America's best cancer, but that doesn't make it prestige television.

How many fucking times do I have to explain this?

PRESTIGE TELEVISION is an industry standard term for highly stylized, literary dramas (or with rare exceptions dramadies like Girls or Veep), predominantly not aired on broadcast networks. PRESTIGE TELEVISION is NOT show you or I or some other person may like and therefore thinks is prestigious. THAT'S NOT WHAT THE TERM  MEANS. It's not open to debate.

I was making a subtle joke about Atomic's similar inability to understand what constitutes "Prestige Television."

Why anyone would miss Atomic is beyond me. That's like being wistful for that rectal cancer you overcame.
