So, I once asked on Facebook over a decade ago now for my friends to submit once song and I would let Apple create a smart playlist based on that song and name the playlist after them.  Josh submitted "Rainbow Connection" - the only song he could "never skip."  I kept that iPod much longer than I needed to until it finally crapped out.

Now, my daughter's sleep time playlist starts with Rainbow Connection, and I think of That Guy every night.

A worthy read:

And a worthwhile watch:

Seth - don't ever take those videos down without sending me copies.

My apologies to anyone who was irritated by anything I said in this thread yesterday. I was actually trying to be sensitive, knowing that there are people from the 9:30 family that likely read or post to this forum, as well as people who considered him a friend. I realize sometimes words read differently to different people.

Also a note to Hutch: That must have been some *other* guy that you bottled. I got a good look at the guy who bottled me (and fled the club.) He was ugly, but ugly in a very generic way.  You're ugly in a very definitive way!

My kid remembers 9/3 as the day Bob and Linda Belcher were married.

Vansmack: What else is one your kid's playlist? We had one too, but that was so long ago I only remember that it had a Wilco song and a Keren Ann song and I don't remember what else.

Happy Labor Day everyone.

In a couple of days it will be 10 years that Josh aka “That Guy” has been gone.

Much missed but not forgotten.

I still vividly remember getting the news...anyone that knew and appreciated Josh felt like part of their soul went missing that day. And I still feel the same way even now. It's still shocking to me because he struck me as the epitome of a protector...someone who'd always be there to make sure you were OK. Selfless. He was one of those people who you couldn't help but be drawn to, to feel connected to him, and look past his physical traits and see a remarkably warm, sensitive, smart, and kind soul. I won't lie, I had a huge crush on him because he couldn't hide that huge heart of gold, and a beautiful soul. When Grandpa Ed died, Josh was the first one to remind us that we need to be there to support and listen to each other, to never take one another for granted. It is comforting to talk about him, to remember him, to think about happy memories and feel as though the part of me that went missing is somehow replaced by something else less tangible but no less significant.
