everybody, wants to be cool.  lcd, is cool.  that guy from nirvana, is cool.  lorde, is not cool.  the, end.
Foo Fighters were never cool.

LCD Soundsystem were cool from around 2002 - 2005; a little less cool from 2006 - 2007; and definitely not cool from 2007 - present.

Lorde seems pretty cool.  I need to listen to her music a bit more to better gauge her (musical) coolness. I do dig her visual aesthetic, and would consider it pretty "cool."

Are we certain this dipshit isn't Ardamus who has registered for a new name? His opinions certainly reek the same way.

Yes, they are playing the 18th, too.  Tickets are not on sale yet as far as I can tell.

Also noticed this on Ticketfly:

Hmm.... already trying to strategize where to stand with my height-challenged wife for LCD.

seth should transition the 930 club to a venue that expands from 100 attendees up to the current maximum to completely corner the market!

On that topic, what's the most under-attended show you've seen at the 9:30? I think mine was Elextrafixion, the band that Ian and Will from Echo and the Bunnymen had before their reunion in 1997. They packed in the Black Cat in autumn of 1995, and I don't think the spring 1996 show was promoted at all. I think there were (maybe) 25 people there? Everyone that stayed was invited backstage afterwards. Super fun night.

I'm hearing Seth is becoming quite the expert on transitioning things. . .

There was a charity show with a bunch of DC bands (only one I can remember was Federico Aubele) and there was maybe 50 people in attendance. 2004 or 2005, IIRC.

Idlewild - 100 Broken Windows tour. Maybe 40 people there. Band wasn't happy. Short, uninspired set. No encore.

I am dreadful at estimating, but there didn't seem to be more than 150 people at a Beth Orton show a few years ago.

Dean Ween Group a few years ago
Martin Sexton in 03 or 04

Max would be 200 for each of these...

The Anthem website is up and running (beyond the bare-minimum layout):  http://www.theanthemdc.com/

As a person who drives to shows from Southern Maryland (even more south than Solomons Island), I need to figure out where the underground parking garage is relative to the Anthem.  I hope the garage will be open by October.
