Does anyone remember Kingpin, the old Atari/plastic furniture/hip hop bar from the early 00's.? It was in the upstairs of the building next to the Velvet Lounge. That was one of the few places in DC where you could partake.

I do from 2000-2001! it was a great after hours place.... they'd let you in and then lock the gate like at 2 or some such...obviously people wanting to party from 2 am on so a lot of people doing coke...

its all rather vague though.... Grin

i want to say they had a really old radiohead set list posted on one of the walls...

I didn't move here until 02', so I don't know about those years hutch... I do know it was a fun place to extend the evening and then top it off with a 4am halfsmoke >>> more after hours at Casa de Yada.

I remember openly smoking pot at the old Roxy on 18th Street.  The Kilimanjaro was kind of hit or miss.  If you weren't obvious about it, they seemed to look the other way.

The first time I went to DC Space in 10th grade it was a 9353 show, I think Grey Matter was opening. A couple dudes sitting at tables rolled one up and burned it right there.  Mind=blown.

Its clearly labeled User-Curated not Julian-Curated. If you think it's worthy, induct it.

There are places, I think, that turn a blind eye to that kind of stuff on their patio. I know a few places I frequent [near/around U St corridor] I always run into people on back patios doing it. Hell, even right on U St on the sidewalk. There's so many people out on weekends now that I think cops just try and keep an eye out for bigger disturbances.
