songs don't matter to me, but

 Born on 23rd May:
1934 - Robert Moog ( inventor of the synthesizer )
 1967 - Philip James Selway ( drummer, Radiohead )
 1974 - Jewel ( full name Jewel Kilcher )

i knew of the last two, but i don't think i knew about moog.

The Number 1 single was:
Chris De Burgh - "The Lady In Red"

 The Number 1 album was:
 Madonna - "True Blue"

 Born on 7th Aug:
 1952 - Alexis Sayle ( actor and 'vocalist' )
 1952 - Andy Fraser ( bassist, Free )
 1965 - Raul Malo ( vocalist, The Mavericks )

the U.S. No.1 on the 7th August 1986 was... The Glory of Love by
 Peter Cetera

 AAAAAAAAGGGGHHHH

I guess it's my own fault for being born in the 80's.
