As rare as this show is, I'd skip it as well because I also much rather see him with a band.

This show is solo acoustic I'm on the fence...much prefer he had his band with him.

solo acoustic at iota on saturday night is a recipe for disaster. the crowd chatter could be out of control and overwhelming.

Someone at Iota told me 10 or 10:15. That usually means 10:30 at the earliest.

Teddy Thompson at Iota (think he'll go on at 10?)

I agree Iota is one of the worst for crowd chatter. One can hope it can be one of those Sat. nights that is dead b/c of "date night" or nice weather. (thx Charlie for the confirm and yeah, I thought start at 9 really means 9:30...)

there is parking nearby. its right by the charles theatre and Penn Station (too bad the Marc trains don't run late).  There is a parking garage about 1/2 a block north of Metro Gallery. and a good Tapas place across the street.

Nothing he goes to surprises me anymore.

He could tell me tomorrow that he's going to see a Chinese opera about a teenage hermaphrodite who had gotten pregnant with what the sonogram shows to be siamese twins joined at the ass and was conflicted re: whether or not he/she should get an abortion and it wouldn't phase me.

To my surprise when I showed up at the Fillmore in Denver on Friday night for the MBV show, Brightblack Morning Light had just come on and they were followed by a solo set from Kurt Heasley.  Great show.
