that was a pretty crappy one. GBV and fred schneider were awesome on the second stage, but not much else was good. was that when jewel got bonked with the frisbee?

rumors have been saying Depeche Mode is confirmed
 
 other bands mentioned have been The Strokes and REM I think.

the combo of those band could make it worth going to ... nice long DM set with a 30 minute Strokes "hits" fest and hopefully a tight REM set.  REM of course having one killer group of support musicians....

yeah, i think D Mode is a sure no go.
 
  also, if you are looking at whos NOT playing...check the lineup for sasquatch in seattle the same weekend, i would highly doubt anyone would be flying across the country just to play at HFStival.
