Haha, funny.  They're techies, not artists...

However, the ability to show multiple airports on one screen is incredible.

Is it just me, or has Netflix dropped the ball on streaming of new movies?

It seems like a year ago, a good half of my new releases would be streaming upon release (I watch alot of documentaries and forein films), thus giving me the chance to watch more new releases (some streaming, some dvd). Now, it seems like no new releases get instant streamed at the time of their release.

Given that fact, I'm now paying for two services and getting less than what I did with one. I'd drop the instant in a heartbeat, but there are some kids shows that my daughter likes on instant (we don't have cable)...

that's a very small decline, from 25M to 24M.  being 4% off on projections isn't a biggie.

what i'd like to know is how many individual accounts they had before the split in services.  have the number of accounts lost been offset by the increase in revenue from people now paying for both services separately?  if they don't detail that in their 10Q, we could use change in revenue as a proxy.

If you were at home all day with a lone four year old and also needed to work 15-20 hours a week from home, you'd park in in front of the tv once in awhile as well.  ;)  She doesn't watch tv when daddy is home.

Although I must say, she does so much in the way of art projects, the t-shirt business should be up and running soon.

i want to get a new phone.  i like sprint, no matter what anybody says, so i will be sticking with them for two more years.  should i go with

htc evo  -  $100

htc evo three d - $200  (is the extra hundred really worth it?)

motorola photon 4g  -  $200  (never owned a motorola, know nothing about them)

or should i wait . . . is there something coming that is wonderful in like the next month or two.  i will not wait 6 months+ for speculation technology and i don't give a damn that iphone is coming to sprint.  too late iphone; your appeal is dust in the wind, duuuuude.

It's also been 15 days and they're already revising estimates.  October will be interesting, but I'm more interested in the Q4 numbers to see the trend.

On the revenue side, those numbers would indicate a huge upswing, as they apparently haven't lost anybody in the "both" category despite a 60% increase in costs (the 12 million "both" category used to be $10, now it's $16).

REVENUE BEFORE:

(streaming x $8 + Both x $2 + DVD x $5)

$119 million monthly

REVENUE NOW:

(streaming x $8 + Both x $8 + DVD x $8)

$144 million

As an investor (and someone who did cancel both) I have a hard time believing that, and if true, you'd think they would be touting that as they downgraded their estimates on subscribers, yet they say their financial guidance remains unchanged.

I smell something stinky and await October numbers.

Tomorrow.  The Samsung Galaxy S II hits Sprint.  It's fantastic and meet my requirements of a dual-core phone with 4G capabilities.  I believe they are calling it the Epic 4G Touch - best phone in the US Market.

If you're super techie, I'd wait two months and see what the Nexus Prime has to offer (it's straight Google with no Samsung software).  I can't guarantee Sprint gets that phone before Nov 15 though.

Honestly though, the average consumer can't go wrong with the Epic Touch 4G.  The slightly more tech enhanced will be a little frustrated with the slowness of Samsung to release the next Android OS on it.
