This pretty much answers all my questions. Not sure I'd use the India study though. They used a different, inferior vaccine to what we're using.

https://www.economist.com/graphic-detail/2021/07/30/which-americans-are-against-the-jab

According to our modelling, the single greatest predictor of whether an American has been vaccinated is whether they voted for Joe Biden or Donald Trump last November. Relative to the profile for the average American—a white, 49-year-old female with some college education who earns a middle-class income, lives in a Midwestern suburb and did not vote in 2020—the impact of voting for Mr Trump is a 13 percentage-point reduction in the probability of being vaccinated. Holding everything else equal, Mr Biden’s supporters were 18 points likelier to get their jabs. Whether someone was a self-proclaimed conservative or liberal ranked second.

Vaccine holdouts relent as delta variant takes hold

More than 856,000 doses were administered Friday, the highest daily figure since July 3, according to The Washington Post’s vaccine tracker. This was the third week that states with the highest numbers of coronavirus cases also had the highest vaccination numbers, deputy White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said at a briefing Friday.

Vaccine-hesitant pockets of the country turned hot spots, including Louisiana, experienced a 114 percent increase in uptake, according to the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Arkansas recorded a 96 percent increase, Alabama, 65 percent, and Missouri, 49 percent.

Life has to restart at some point. Vaccinated people will be fine.

I share your concern Kosmo…

Since this is all new we have no idea what long term consequences might be for vaccinated people that get the delta variant…

Also there are tens of millions of children in America that have not been vaccinated yet because the vaccine is not yet available to them…

And of course while we wish all Americans would have chosen to get vaccinated many didn’t and one has to be concerned for them

Not to mention if the virus continues it’s evolution…..who knows?

I wonder how many people are waiting the 3 or 4 weeks needed for the vax to fully immunize them. If not then they're not really vaxxed yet.

There is zero — and I stress, zero — evidence that the vaccines take 3-4 weeks to give off a relative level of immunity or that at week 3 or 4 one’s protection takes some statistically significant leap from mere days before.

I goofed. Should have said something like theoretically fully immunized. Not sure of the curve for the JJ. Here's some good info on the Pfizer.

Many transmissions occur after the first dose, within the first 10 days after the vaccination, before the body can produce enough antibodies.
