I wonder how many people are waiting the 3 or 4 weeks needed for the vax to fully immunize them. If not then they're not really vaxxed yet.
There is zero — and I stress, zero — evidence that the vaccines take 3-4 weeks to give off a relative level of immunity or that at week 3 or 4 one’s protection takes some statistically significant leap from mere days before.

my SiL and BiL both work in immunology and are our go-to source for pandemic information.  they assured me that you're at maximum protection between 48 and 72 hours after a shot.  the multi-week wait advice is way (as in: stupidly) overly cautious.

Graham, in his statement, touted the vaccine, saying that if he wasn't vaccinated "my symptoms would be far worse."

“I am very glad I was vaccinated because without vaccination I am certain I would not feel as well as I do now," he said.

Tangential note:

Somehow I got myself on a Wilco Facebook group membership and it was reported that there was a policy change for the Jeff Tweedy shows at Brooklyn Made. Previously, masks were required but now they are not. Or something like that. However, the Greg Dulli show is requiring masks, by artist request. I dunno, I'm not going to any Brooklyn shows, so only half paying attention.

I spent a few days at the beach, and can confirm that there are few masks. Also, people are fat.

we did just pass a milestone we hoped to hit 29 days ago
70% of all adults have now had their first shot.

does that mean we don't all get a free beer?
