I thought the definition of metal, was "bad, over-dramatic and generally humorless music played by former Dungeons and Dragons masters with big hair and too much spandex?"

Never heard of that definition before, you did get the "big hair" and "too much spandex" part right though.  Does that mean that Indie and emo music are defined as "boring, lul you to sleep music played by former high school nerds that had no friends and wore chest high pants with suspenders and big glasses with tape in the middle"?
