mtg weighed in the only way you'd expect

@RepMTG
I never watch the Oscars but I’ve seen the Will Smith/Chris Rock clip a million times this morning.

I have to say I appreciate the Alpha male response of a husband defending his wife.

It was settled and then no more drama.

Chris Rock handled it like a man with no whining.

That's one take on it. Ny wife's first comment this morning was "Poor Will Smith." (as in people are being too hard on him.)

Best tweet about the slap, heard around the world.

"Some of you think Chris Rock got what he deserved, but half a year ago you were telling trans folks not to take Dave Chapelle’s jokes seriously. Which is it?"

People forget, actions like that are why Will was sent to Bel-Air in the first place.

What do y'all think Elliot Page will get less of, leading man roles, or hits on his dating profile?

As usual you all are burying the narrative: Juwan Howard - trendsetter.

My wife can vouch that I made that comparison last night. Though I'm betting you would have been the better target audience.

I think you misread.  Shortly after it happened, I made some kind of comment that this reminded me of Juwan Howard, that they even look alike and Will Smith would have no trouble playing Juwan in a movie. Though I called my "the Michigan coach." My point was the I don't think she got the reference, that *you* (or pretty much any guy I'm acquanited with) would have been a better target audience for the comment.

@LadyJayPersists

I’ve seen a lot of people saying Will Smith should lose his Oscar after he slapped Chris Rock for insulting his wife, but don’t recall this many people saying Harvey Weinstein should lose his Oscar after he was convicted of rape.

oh and only Sweets will get this one
