the service can be spotty so make sure you start screaming

Orange Whip is delicious, one of the best local IPAs around IMHO.

Will this beer the largest clusterfuck in Richmond beer history?

Saturday February 11th will be our second Tasting Room Remix. This time we are honored to host our good friends TRILLIUM!!!

Starting at 12pm when we open doors, we will be pouring 9 beers on draft from Trillium and some very special beers from us. We will announce the draft list from both breweries as we get closer. The Trillium team will be around hanging out all day too, so make sure you say sup.

For this special occasion, we decided to bring back the boiz from Maine at The High Roller Lobster Co to murder us with their inventive and classic lobster/seafood creations. They are bringing twice as much Lobster as last time, so don't freak out.

Like last Tasting Room Remix, we will have DJ sets all day from BillyCrystalfingers, Chenchilla, DJ El Capone, DJ Ant Boogz, and DJ Mom(Baxter from High Roller). We will also be hosting our first ever live music performance. Our friend and local hip-hop artist Chance Fischer will be turning things up to finish out the night.

It's going to be straight lit! So come through and try some rad beers from Trillium on draft and some cool limited beers from us Veilians.

Open 12pm-12am for this day. No cover. No tickets. Just awesome beer, food, and jamz all dang day!

i have, and it is indeed excellent.  huge citrus bomb.  (insignificant aside: technically it's an american pale ale, but who cares, it's a high-grade hop delivery system).

speaking of RAR: i got a fresh sixer of their Nanticoke Nectar.  it's nice... but i was hoping for more.  this is their flagship, so maybe they can't get too intense lest they scare away the masses?

I find Nectar to be better fresh on draft... don't like it at all out of a can.

felt a little hoodwinked this weekend

Was in Harris Teeter and saw a bunch of Hopslam sixers in a stack
No price, but I was like "what the heck, keep hearing people talk about this"

was I surprised after looking at the bill...$22 for a 6 pack

It is good, but that's a little steep for a 6pack

And Yada calls me cheap.

Are they 16 oz or 12 oz?

I paid $16+ for 16 oz four packs at the Veil and Other Half, and $20 for a four pack at SingleCut. Worth every penny.

Two five figure salaries only go so far in a six figure town. And it used to be 1.5 salaries when my wife was a (by choice) partially employed SAHM. You do what you gotta do to get by.

I say someone is cheap when they're not willing to pay an extra buck or two for something of a much higher quality, which according to your post it looks like you've gotten past that.

I call someone dumb when they pay too much money for a crappy beer.

Still have yet to try Pulp but have had many of their other offerings (Hyde, 10 Layer with Mint to name a few) and have been a big fan of theirs. I agree with Yada that Nanticoke Nectar tastes much better on tap, and it's probably my favorite Maryland-based IPA.

I finished off a 4-pack of Sixpoint Hi-Res.  Quite happy about this development.

What are you drinking for the Super Bowl?

i bottled my empty-the-freezer, irresponsibly hopped DIPA on sunday (citra, galaxy, mosaic, simcoe, el dorado and a little apollo), so i might crack a few of those for the big game if they're carbed up by then.  tight timeline tho.  at bottling the stuff was as clear as a milkshake thanks to all those hops.

otherwise i'll be continuing my campaign to empty the cellar.  i'm eyeing some Firestone Walker boxes... maybe go for the holy trinity of parabola, sucaba and stickee monkee.
