High Fidelity Bluetooth may be coming soon

It?s a true 192kHz 24-bit upsampling DAC sporting a high SNR of 120dB and is well regarded for its impressive low noise and low distortion characteristics.

I bit the bullet and went SONOS with my new place.  Can't wait around for all of these new projects to maybe become reality.

Smackie's new wireless sound setup - crawled through a river of shit and came out clean on the other side. Crawled to progressive technological advancement through five hundred yards of shit smelling foulness I can't even imagine, or maybe I just don't want to. Five hundred yards... that's the length of five football fields, just shy of half a mile.

I'm honestly stunned it took you that long to show up and mock the idea of physical media.

I'm in the midst of an organizational shake up at the moment, so in between hiring one and firing another, I caught up on my thread.

I'm also moving tonight, so Smackie is warning his followers in advance that immediate requests should be handled through different channels.
so this begs the question

where does the 930 board fall in terms of priority?

i.e. in the midst of firing some slackie...did you say "hold on a moment, my followers want an update on the status of some outdated media contraption"

These channels...like 'the bat signal'  or tweets with the hashtag #helpmesmakie

Also this question was answered

Sent him a PM about the GWARBQ and had a Paypal email in no less than 5 mins!

Smacks, I need a TV recommendation. Any reason I shouldn't go 4K? Looking to get in and out under a thousand. What's the most bang for my buck?

You should absolutely go 4K given the modest upgrade in price and future proofing of most 4K TV's.

The most bang for your buck is going to be Vizio.  But I had some hardware quality issues in two TV's I purchased from Best Buy (they were both broken panels from delivery) so I ended up going Samsung in the end.

Now that I'm back to DirecTV this was a bonus in the end as Samsung is currently the only TV company I can use to watch DirecTV's 4K offerings.  Given that you're a TiVo guy, that shouldn't be an issue.

Yeah, I was looking at a 50" Samsung that Best Buy has at $949. Only $50 more than the Vizio and I always really like Samsungs.

I have the 6950 Series and have no regrets, but it looks like it's discontinued (I paid $999 for mine).  I don't know the 6500 series well, but I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

Can we talk about pornhub for minute?  Of course we can, it's my thread.

I'm back to Xfinity from U-Verse due to franchise agreements that prevent competition in my new condo, but that's for another discussion.

Anyhow, so during sign up, the tele-sales guy screws up and only gives me 6 mpbs for my new service.   As I'm picking up my modem for a self-install, the nice guy behind the counter points this out to me.

"Hey, you're only getting the 6 mbps service.  You can't stream porn with that."

"Dammit - I asked for the 75 mbps SPECIFICALLY so i could stream porn."

"I hear you, let me fix it.  It's only $5 more."

"Nice, thanks."

"No problem.  Hey did you hear pornhub is going to subscription only?"

"No shit?!  I'm without home internet for 4 days, and the entire internet collapses outside my watch"

Well it turns out that the nice clerk was wrong.  Pornhub is only taking the HD porn behind the subscription plan.   I find this interesting because this is slightly contrary to how I select my porn.

It usually goes something like this:

1) Whats being watched now - as you all know, there's usually 6 videos from the catalog recommended as "being watched now" - I rarely can be bothered to search or hit the categories.

2) Then I look at the percentage of Thumbs up.  I generally don't watch anything that isn't given a 91% or higher of thumbs up.  You've got to have standards, but the sweet spot is somewhere in the 92-93% range with over 500K views.  You really can't trust any videos under that number as being properly screened for quality.

3) Then I look at the type and quality of the girl(s) in the video - everyone has their own preferences, and Smackie has his too.

4) Only then is the tie-breaker HD quality or not.

So I found it odd that pornhub put HD quality and not most watched or most liked or any other reasonable criteria behind their paywall.

Yes, I prefer HD quality videos, but putting a crappy move in HD does not make a shitty move better.  It just makes it more clear how shitty the movie is.

Anyhow, so I'm not too alarmed about pornhub's new paywall, but I think there's too much free porn to make a worthwhile and profitable Netflix like experience for porn.    So for now, there's no reason to get alarmed.  Yet.

I visited the pornhub once. Saw this odd German lesbian porn. I have no idea to this day what those two German ladies were screaming about. Truth is, I don't want to know. Some things are best left unsaid. I'd like to think they were doing something so beautiful, it can't be expressed in words, and makes your heart ache because of it. I tell you, those voices soared higher and farther than anybody in a gray place dares to dream. It was like some beautiful bird flapped into our drab little cage and made those walls dissolve away, and for the briefest of moments, every last man on Pornhub felt free.

For general use and sharing among friends/family, Google is just fine... I don't know how anyone in a business/work setting could ever prefer Google over MSFT.

I can't seem to find a TV base/stand that is less than 10 inches in width, which is kind of blowing my mind.

Yeah, I'm really not sure who is actually paying anymore?

but apparently Mind Geek (owners of Pornhub and tons of other sites) brings in over $200 million annually

Can't tell if he's referencing VS's porn post in code or not?
