I'd like to know if there is any place in DC where they have zydeco shows on a pretty regular basis. Any idea or suggestion?

I don't know about live venues but you gotta check out The Zydeco Cowboy (http://www.wpfw.org/subshows/zydecofred.html) on WPFW 89.3, Fridays 12:30 to 1:30 PM.

Try Glen Echo Park. They have a zydeco dance every two weeks.

Also, check the Wolftrap Barns schedule from October-May. They tend to have some zydeco acts.

Seems like the Birchmere and the State Theater have zydeco acts as well.

Zydeco Cowboy says "yeh yeh" after every sentence.

My next door neighbor in my Mt. Pleasent duplex is/was a Zydeco producer. His alcholic daughters walk around with wash boards on, some times the bands he produced stop by and throw a party in the back yard, thus my house is consumed by a thick smoke of barbequed beaver and ganja.

both wolftrap and the birchmere (aka the shushmere) hold zydeco concerts. i think wolftrap has an annual or bi annual "louisiana swamp romp".

That must be so frustrating considering that Zydeco is such stomping get down hoot n holler and party kind of music.

You CAN woop it up at the Birchmere, depending on the band. At BR549, people were hootin and hollerin. If it's some quiet, acoustic strumming folkie, probably not.
