The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a public health order late Friday requiring face coverings on airplanes, trains, and other public transportation to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

The order will go into effect on Monday.

with zero teeth

The order says it "does not intend to rely primarily on these criminal penalties but instead strongly encourages and anticipates widespread voluntary compliance."

Maybe we can have young children or little people dress up like Chucky and attack people on the metro like that one New York Subway video that circulating around.

Four to five years until normal?
yeah, saw that this morning and felt like crying

but...how much credence do you put in a statement from Singapore’s education minister
Is this guy even an epidemiologist or at least a facebook group admin

edit: I did just read this
Lawrence Wong is co-chair of the Covid-19 task force,

and they appear to have done a much better job than us

I don’t know what to say anymore...

Letting covid19 spread out of control like wildfire  as the US, Mexico and Brazil have done is incredibly irresponsible... when you have so many millions of cases you are just setting yourself up for more and more variants making it potentially harder for vaccine developers to keep up, new variants could be deadlier.. These countries along with the UK (let’s remember their initial herd immunity talk and their slowness to adopt measures the rest of Europe was adopting) not exercising good sense threatens the world... Mexico and Brazil literally seem to have a the more that die the better approach

So we get the UK variant, Brazil variant etc

It seems only a matter of time before the US contributes some new variant as we account for a large share of the world’s cases

Or it will just peter  out and scientists will develop vaccines and incredibly effective treatments...

But it seems a risky bet

Concerts, no. But hiking and sledding, YES!

That chart looks great, but a pretty small sample size
I want to see that chart in a month after a few million doses are in it

Wow so they test trialed Covid19 variants that don’t exist yet?

Impressive
