 SUNDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STERLING VA HAS ISSUED A
 WINTER STORM WARNING.

THE MID ATLANTIC SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT. SNOW IS CURRENTLY
EXPECTED TO BEGIN IN THE HIGHLANDS OF EASTERN WEST VIRGINIA AND
WESTERN MARYLAND AROUND 5 TO 7 AM. THE SNOW WILL SPREAD EAST AND WILL
MOVE OVER CENTRAL MARYLAND AND NORTHERN VIRGINIA BETWEEN 7 TO 10 AM.

SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE AFTERNOON AND INTO THE EVENING BEFORE
ENDING BETWEEN 7 AND 11 PM. THE SNOW WILL BE HEAVY AT TIMES DURING
THE MIDDAY AND AFTERNOON HOURS. 4 TO 8 INCHES IS EXPECTED BEFORE
ENDING. TEMPERATURES WILL BE IN THE MIDDLE TO UPPER 20S DURING THE
EVENT. WINDS WILL BE LIGHT DURING THE DAY...THEN WILL BECOME NORTH
DURING THE EVENING. WINDS WILL INCREASE STEADILY DURING THE

THERE ARE TWO OTHER POINTS OF INTEREST. FIRST...FOR CENTRAL VIRGINIA
AND LOWER SOUTHERN MARYLAND...BASICALLY FROM STAUNTON THROUGH
CHARLOTTESVILLE AND FREDERICKSBURG...TO PRINCE FREDERICK...THE SNOW
WILL LIKELY MIX WITH SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN LATE IN THE EVENT. AFTER
3 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW THE PRECIPITATION WILL CHANGE TO MIXED

SIGNIFICANT ICING IS NOT EXPECTED AT THIS POINT AND THE MAIN THREAT
IN THAT AREA IS THE SNOWFALL.

SECOND...IS A COASTAL STORM THAT WILL FORM OFF THE DELMARVA
PENINSULA SATURDAY NIGHT. THAT STORM MAY SPREAD A FEW ADDITIONAL
INCHES OF SNOW SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY MORNING FOR CENTRAL AND
NORTHEAST MARYLAND BEFORE MOVING AWAY. HOWEVER...THIS SECOND PERIOD
OF SNOW IS MORE UNCERTAIN AT THIS EARLY STAGE. ACCUMULATIONS MAY BE A
FEW INCHES MORE IN THAT AREA IF THIS OCCURS.

THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM. STAY ALERT FOR THE LATEST
INFORMATION TONIGHT AND SATURDAY. ANY CHANGE IN THE STORM TRACK COULD

WOAH!!! I'm off to Super Value to get my bog roll, milk and whatever else I'm supposed to get whenever a sprinkle of snow falls on DC.

It was a balmy 12c yesterday but dropped down to 8c this morning. Oh to be in the gulf stream warmth of south west Cork.  :p

i want  a job like the weathermen; get paid for being wrong seventy percent of the time.

"hey everybody, we're getting up to eight inches, maybe even a foot of snow."

it's one-fourty p.m., and it has already stopped here, with less than two inches, top.  go, go, bob ryan.

The Smithereens show at the State Theater is cancelled.    :(

We're going to drink and try to co-opt the jukebox at the Big Hunt instead...

I should probably wait for someone who actually knows what they're talking about to chime in, rather than feeding you my earthy, down-home folk wisdom, but I think if they did cancel the show, they'd probably post that on the website.

All four acts are here and accounted for so the show is go.  You can reach us at 202.265.0930 anytime we are here. The concert line is just our list of upcoming shows.  If there are ever any changes to our planned events those changes would be listed on our website in the "This Just In..."  Or "Today is..." section.
