those quarter acre lots in DC would probably go for close to a million if not higher, anyway, even if you could fit a 100 yard driveway [/b]
I owned the same size house and lot in Northern Bethesda (Rockville actually, but we could use the address because White Flint did) that I do now in Pittsburgh. Even the costs were equivalent. I thought I would save huge dollars per month, but my mortgage nearly doubled. It's a tax thing. Just another reason to question why I moved here.

BTW, why were you shovelling your driveway? Don't they have Mexicans in Pittsburgh?

#1 - I can't afford them since I spend all my $$ paying for such an extravagant house      ;)

#2 - They just opened a Baja Fresh nearby & the employees were the first Mexicans I've seen. I did try to lure a few of them away with an offer of a couple more cents per hour, but in the end it came down to benefits. Something I'm just not prepared to offer at this time.   :p

I've noticed that...how does Baja get away with only hiring hispanics? If it was a place selling white folk food and only hired whites there'd be lawsuits all over the place.

Good point.  What was it that got Lenny's, I mean Denny's, in trouble?

I thought Denny's got in trouble for not waiting on black customers who came into their restaurants.

Yes they did. Around 1994-1995 I think. The NY Times maagazine ran an article called Discrimination, Sunny Side Up....

Aresenio used Denny's as the butt of his monologue jokes for about a month straight.

Gawd, how I miss the Arsenio Hall show.

Thanks for the clarification.  As you can see in my previous post, I was asking what got them in trouble.

Mr. Balls, you can see Arsenio Hall on Star Search now.  Clearly he's moving up in the world.  He's also sporting dreadlocks, a bit more rugged than that fade he used to have.

My mum, Mrs. Balls, will be thrilled to hear the news regarding Mr. Hall. She always had a crush on him.
