Hutch: Why do you think Biden has to pick and African American female?

He was already kicking the ass of Harris and Booker, even among blacks. So what would Harris bring to the ticket?

And Stacey Abrams is smart, but an unqualified nobody.

Who else do you have in mind? Michele ain't gonna do it. Though having the Obamas campaigning for him would help.

I don’t know who and picking a VP is high stakes poker beyond my pay grade

But why? Cause you need black People to stand in line in the cold in Philly for 5 hours...we have been through this

We need to turnout the black vote and the female vote as absolutely high as possible...won’t spell out rest

Can anyone vote in the California primary?

Not for Federal offices, no.

State and local offices are open primary, federal offices you must be a registered member of a party, EXCEPT the Democratic Primary which allows for those registered Decline To State to request a Democratic ballot (Republican's refused to allow this in their primary).  If you registered for a different party however, you are limited to the Candidates of only that party.

I would argue yesterday’s numbers are pretty much proof AAs will show up to vote for Biden. Who supposedly will not show up to vote for Biden? Latinos and young people. Who do Latinos and young people show up to vote for? Bernie Sanders.

Like it’s an ideological mess and I don’t think Bernies evangelical belief in himself will allow him to take a VP slot, but I think he covers Biden’s voting gaps pretty obviously.

If 2016 taught us anything it is women do not feel any mora obligation to vote for a woman. I honesty do not know what Stacey Abrams does for you electorally or demographically that Biden does not already have.

But yeah, it will probably be Klobs if I had to guess today to try and nail down Minnesota.

I'm pretty sure smakie has it right...you have to be an independent and you can vote in the dem primary
I remember when I lived in dc, I registered as independent and regretted it when I couldn't vote in the Mayoral dem primary (as that is the actual Mayoral election)

I don't know much about her, but what about Gretchen Whitmer as VP? She has a nice name, at least.

I liked her rebuttal to the SOTU, but most people panned that speach...but would help lock in MI

VP picks are weird, as personally, it's never moved me one bit
how many votes do you think Tim Kaine added...I thought he was a horrible pick

Kamala Harris probably does even less for a Joe Biden candidacy than Stacey Abrams. Like what voting bloc or whatever do you get with Kamala Harris that you do not have without her? Who is excited over this?

I saw a tweet that Sanders and Biden should announce their VP picks sooner than later
as actuarial tables show that there is a great likelihood neither will make it to the end of their first term

A woman VP has never happened so I would say any woman VP nominee would be exciting

Otherwise we will never have a female president pretty much

It’s 2020....high time

The idea is to replicate the Obama coalition

Topic for discussion: what if Biden throws conventional wisdom out the window and does a unity ticket with Bernie?

My wife is reminding me that she proposed a Bernie/Biden or Biden/Bernie (depending on who got the nomination) unity ticket this past weekend. Great minds think alike?

Why does everyone assume Bernie would go for this even if Biden was open to it?
