a not so random thought

I don't understand the need for people on this forum to always feel like they need to get the last word in or constantly shout others down.

This isn't an assault rifle? Or are you again lying because you have nothing else to offer? Also, spare me the patronizing lecture on guns. I'm perfectly aware that a dickless shit like yourself uses their perverted gun knowledge to make himself feel like a REAL MAN GRRRRRRR but it doesn't matter in this debate. By the logic of you and the rest of the gun perverts, only a drug addict could write drug policy.

How a firearm LOOKS is not what makes it an assault weapon.  One of the defining characteristics of an assault weapon is that it is capable of fully automatic fire.  None of the weapons used in the school shooting in question were.

hey RB, you ignorance and arrogance are showing.

"any of various automatic or semiautomatic firearms; especially : assault rifle"
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/assault%20weapon

"Any selective-fire firearm capable of fully automatic, semiautomatic or burst fire at the option of the user" - State of Connecticut, http://www.jud.ct.gov/ji/criminal/glossary/assaultweapon.htm

even this pro-gun website correctly defines an assault weapon as a semi-auto: http://www.assaultweapon.info/

"In discussions about gun laws and gun politics in the United States, an assault weapon is most commonly defined as a semi-automatic firearm possessing certain cosmetic, ergonomic, or construction features similar to those of military firearms."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault_weapon

I am speaking of the LEGAL definition of an assault weapon.  Oh wait, just cause it is on the internet it has to be true, I forgot!

where is this "legal" definition you speak of?  in your head?

i quoted the justice dept of CT (first state that came up in my search, plenty others available)... sounds pretty legal to me.  ZING.

Bunch of dudes.  I ran a forum with 95 percent women on it and had problems with maybe two people arguing the two years I ran it.   We need more chicks.

I stand corrected, seems that with multiple other criteria a semi automatic weapon could qualify.  However the fact that a weapon is semiautomatic alone dos not qualify as an assault weapon.  Niether does a firearm 'looking scary'.

I want to fly on one of these!

Usually, I always want a window seat but this would make me enjoy an aisle seat. Must be tough on the crew though since they'd have to do a lot of extra cleaning between flights or it would defeat the purpose. Wonder what the scratch resistance of these floors are like? Hope it's much better than my damn "scratch resistant" glasses!

Yeah, my stomach turned.  I watch a lot of sports and I've seen a lot of bad breaks, especially a soccer tackle or two.  That one is near the top.

It was bad.  Looked a WHOLE lot like my arm when it got broken in four places while playing hockey.  Only difference is that my fracture was not compound.  You know something is wrong when your elbow is touching your right shoulder!

The Cycle might be the dumbest cable news show ever. Dumber than Crossfire and maybe anything on FNC. Big maybe there because I don't make a habit of watching FNC.

I never said anything about injuries in kickball.

Is this going to turn into the soccer injuries thread?  Here's the most recent bad tackle/broken leg that sticks out in my head.  Brian Mullen vs. Steve Zakuani
