If you can, get a 6 of the Zeke's Coffee Porter by Brewer's Art. One of the best beers I've had in a while! In stores now!

Where did you pick up the New Glarus?  They don't distribute outside of Wisconsin.

Beer trade. I was quite disappointed in my first Toppling Goliath beer, was hoping for much more.

Tonight's 22oz:

Stone Enjoy By 3.14.15
Knee Deep Double IPA (collaboration with Kern River Brewing Co.)

And the verdicts are?...

I enjoyed the Stone, but the Knee Deep was awesome.

I've only had a few different fruit beers of theirs and have enjoyed them all.

So this new "Pour House" beer joint opened near my house in Gaithersburg, Md.  They say they have over 90 beers on tap.  Here's the list.

What's the deal with 13oz, 14 oz and 20oz pours?  (Stone IPA - $9/14 oz???)  Do they have their own special glasses?  WTF?  No pints?

I know Montgomery Co's an expensive place to drink but.........

I feel like James Ford, but beer prices have become absolutely ludicrous at most places. Nearly a dollar an ounce for some of those beers, nutty!

In other news, a friend just made this haul back to DC so I'll be getting a little wacky this evening.

?Hill Farmstead growlers (5): Susan, Abner, Single Hop Citra, Single Hop Galaxy, Legitimacy (Grassroots)
?Fiddlehead IPA
?Lawson's Sip o' Sunshine
?Heady Topper
?14 Star Brewing: Tribute, Valor, Maple Breakfast Stout

i will definitely be checking out this new place in g'burg in the near future.

a pint of intense & high alcohol beer isn't a wise thing to serve.  it's also expensive to make beers that big, or that are aged, or are made in small batches, etc.  so instead of selling you a $12 pint that no one would buy, they offer a 10 oz pour at $8.  and yes, many of those beer are served in style-specific glasses.

Nearly a dollar an ounce for some of those beers, nutty!

yup, and some wine costs more than $20 a bottle!

if you're looking for value, can't go wrong with Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro: 20 oz for $8.

In other news, a friend just made this haul back to DC so I'll be getting a little wacky this evening.

<insert jealousy>
