Yeah, that's right. I do remember that. I wonder if they are regretting having Dave, as their host?

My guess is yes.

I concur on that being a quite fine record. I disagree about Charlotte being fine, however.

The five-piece girl group from Cardiff--produced by Super Furry ace Cian Ciaran--offer a dizzyingly beautiful brand of heaven-inscribed pop soul.

this is so good! great slow sexy jams with beautiful vocal melodies. perfect for late nights at home staring out the window, wandering empty loveless streets, or smoothing along on a love connection with your partner. I have like 6 of these songs stuck in my head and I'm always singing it.

give it a shot, it could be that outta-nowhere album that comes to dominate your life for a few fleeting weeks

Jackie McLean- Tippin' the Scales

1962 Blue Note session that was only released in 1979...

the reason I picked this up- and I'm surprised I had not acquired it yet- is cause Sonny Clark is on it on piano..actually his second to last recording session before he died a few months later..

Sonny Clark is my favorite jazz piano player..they say about him "He never played a bad session" and that has been my experience..He recorded a ton of great Blue Note stuff both as leader and sideman.. he probably died of a heroin overdose... what a shame..

Interestingly DC native Butch Warren also plays on this..as he did with Sonny Clark on one of my favorite Jazz records ever recorded only a month prior: Dexter Gordon's Go (and also on Dex's Swingin' Affair)..

It will always amaze me how these guys could record so much great jazz so quickly. entire legendary albums in one afternoon... then another one two days later....

Santana- Welcome

had never heard this one before.. its like a jazz album more than a rock album... quite interesting...came out in 1973....very jazz fusion-y... I tend to hate jazz fusion but at least its something different and for $1 I can live with it..I sort of considermy Santana collection complete at this point...but occasionally if the price is right I add something to it... the Santana 1968 live record probably remains my favorite.. he really shreds on that one..I simply have no interest in adding Amigos, Festival or Inner Secrets..

I have to say Santana IV which came out earlier this year was a bit disappointing for me...
