These are the albums I never skip a song -- well, just one on Exile (I hate "Soap Star Joe").
A friend once told me that there is no album you don't skip at least one song on. I thought he was out of his mind, but once I paid attention, he's 99% rigtht....

DISQUALIFIED !

I heard a song off of that album the other day on the radio. Still sounds good.

I've got Blow Your Cool around somewhere. This one is better eh?
Great topic by-the-way. It's reminding me of some records that I need to re-visit or go discover.
-
Way better than Blow Your Cool....
-
The Byrds: Sweetheart of the Rodeo
The Flaming Lips: The Soft Bulletin
Belle and Sebastian: If You're Feeling Sinister
Bob Dylan: Blonde on Blonde
Neil Young: Harvest
-
A few from me...most of them really obvious
Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
Love - Forever Changes
Refused - Shape of Punk to Come
Husker Du - Zen Arcade
Flaming Lips - Soft Bulletin
Radiohead - OK Computer
David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust
-
Caught the Hoodoo Gurus once back in '86 opening for The Bangles. They were terrific. I still don't understand why they weren't absolutely huge. I never heard a HG album I didn't like, but Stoneage Romeos is a great f-cking pop record.

Finally!!!!!!!! Someone who likes Ministry.

Is Pet Sounds really all that good, through and through? To me, it's sort of like this Broken Social Scene cd I'm listening to...a few good hits, and a lot of experimental artsy crap.
I'll take my Beach Boys 20 Greatest Hits, or whatever it's called, over Pet Sounds anyday!

Nada Surf--Let Go
every song a winner
-
Yes, Let Go is a good album. The reviews I read though were less than favorable.
-
Well in my opinion......Yes. That's why I listed it. I'm not a huge fan of the early Beach Boys stuff, but I love the Brian Wilson-gone-totally-mad-era stuff. Have you ever heard the song 'Til I Die? Oh the tragedy....what a friggin song.
Back to the origional point though...I love Pet Sounds through and through.

Fair enough. We can agree to disagree. While I wouldn't call that album perfect, I'll take it over many of the other albums listed here.

cut it out!!!!!!!!
-
In my humble o, there are only four albums I'd call perfect:
Bitches Brew by Miles Davis
Loveless by MBV
Sgt. Peppers by the Beatles
Forever Changes by Love
That being said, I'd never skip a track on The Soft Bulletin, Entertainment! by Gang of Four, Crooked Rain Crooked Rain by Pavement, Doolittle, Plays Pretty For Baby by Nation of Ulysseys, Pink Flag by Wire or Meat Puppets II.

I wish I could include XTC, because as much as I dig 'em there's at least one crap song per album.

-
I dunno, dupek, "reptiles and samurai" and "running on a treadmill" are kinda weak on that boingo album. But the rest of it is bitchin'
-
Far better than 13 Point...
As for Miles, I'll have to go with Kind of Blue. Even though that's the obvious choice.

What? "Reptiles and Samurai" is the best cut!

After thinking about this a little more last night I'd have to add:
<img src="http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000002G7C.01._PE8_SCMZZZZZZZ_.jpg" alt=" - " />
The first time I heard it I was totally blown away...nothing has ever sounded anything like this album and there's not a dud song on it.
-
Guns N Roses - Appetite for Destruction
The Stone Roses
Beatles - Abbey Road
MBV - Loveless

I would concur. All the original Tuff Gong and Island stuff was nigh perfect. I chose Burnin' because I think it's the best reflection of the band (not just Bob himself) at their best and is the best flowing album and it follows a cohesive theme.

I'd venture that miles' ten year run from Kind of Blue > Bitches Brew (including Sorcerer, ESP, Miles Smiles, Nefertiti, In a Silent Way...I'm probably forgetting a couple) is the most amazing run of consecutively great records ever. But I definitely feel that Brew is the pinnacle...the first time I heard the title cut I almost cried.

I dunno, I always thought Confrontation was just a poor man's Legend. I think the original studio sutff holds up best...Burnin' and Natty Dread are probably my two favorite.

What do you think of that slick ass lettering I added to the album cover? Pretty sweet huh!

I'll add my admiration to Skywave. Great music! Was just listening to them yesterday and trying to find more of their releases to no avail.

The Jim Carroll Band performed live on the old FRIDAYS TV show. Excellent stuff! Does anyone remember FRIDAYS?

Is that the show that Michael Richards(Kramer)was on playing with GI Joes?

I saw the crazy-ass Fridays episode when Andy Kaufman went all whack. I know that I didn't get it...'course, I was just a young thing watching late night t.v. secretly. ;)
For some reason, I remember Richards and Melanie Chartoff from that show...can't picture any other cast members.

Kaufman's wonderful fistfight aside, Fridays had some kickass musical guests: DEVO, Plasmatics, Jim Carroll.
Does any one remember SCTV? John candy had a bit called THE FISHIN' MUSICIAN wherein he played Gil Fisher who lived in a cabin on a lake. Each week they would have musical guest fish on the lake and then perform. Seeing the Plasmatics fish was grrrrrreat. I think they caught a walleye pike! He also had the Tubes, too.

SCTV was great.Lovitz,Candy,Levy et al,excellent, best canadian sketch comedy bar none, although some could say Kids in the Hall and wouldn't get much arguement from me.Was the Plasmatics episode on fridays the one where she demolished the car with a sledgehammer?Karen O of ther YYY's always reminded me of a cheap Wendy O ripoff, even using the O.Anybody interested in SCTV,check this link.http://sctv.org/intro.htm

Yeah, Wendy chainsawed a caddy, I think.
BTW, Lovitz was strictly SNL, not SCTV.

Possibly,I can check for you.As for the other one, they had the song, but not the CD.Apparently the title track was on some other releases and live discs.I appreciate them, but am not well versed in Hawkwind material.i will check into it with my space rock pals though.

I've got a few of the songs, too. A Hawkwind CD is a sound financial investment, it would appear..?

Okay, maybe I'm a little young and naive still, but for all old school Blink fans,
Blink 182 - self titled is def. a good one. You can't not listen to the whole thing, it flows together flawlessly; an excellent display of Mark, Tom, and Travis' talent and musicianship.

That dude standing at the fence is Dennis Dragon, the brother of Darryl "The Captain" Dragon, BTW.
