^Louis P would be turning in his grave to think he was associated with killing the live element in beer

went to the Sour Week at the Partisan
The Vine - Cascade was worth mentioning

wasn't a sour but...the Melange #14 - The Bruery  mmmm

also nice bottle selection with Prairie/Avery/The Brurery/Grimm selections

Hey Julian,

I read that Stone RVA has started doing free brewery tours. Any word on whether free beer is included in the tour?

I know nothing about this but I know the exact person to ask. I'll get back to you on this ASAP.

I actually called and they told me there's an option for a "guided tasting" after you go on the free tour...no mention of cost, we'll see how long that last.

I've been on the tour at the California brewery, it was pretty entertaining. It did include four sizable sample pours, but I went on it pretty hung over at an early hour and it was hard to enjoy the beer. I think it was free, but they later raised it to a $5 charity donation.

My friend said he did the unofficial VIP tour and it was a lot of fun but no tastings. He has not done the official tour yet but it sounds like you got your answer via calling. He would highly recommend the tour -- alcohol aside -- as it is a "great look at a major brewery operation" (whatever that means).

As the brewery is less than a mile from my house and you are not Hutch, let me know if you and yours come to do it. Would be delighted to show you hospitality and I will put away all of my knives and put a lock on the HBO to make the place apropos for your child.

This post is more fun if we pretend Hutch does not have a keyboard issue but rather this is a result of all these beers he tried.

I tend to like Victory's IPA when fresh (especially Dirt Wolf), but I hae not had that one so can't comment.
