OK, but where did her fear of Earthquakes come from.

You don't know about California sitting on fault lines? Talk to my geologist brother.

There was a 6.0 earthquake less than three hours from where we were floating in a lake on July 8. (We didn't feel a thing.)

You missed a good one.  Felt all the way in SF.....

I should also point out that there was zero damage, zero injuries and thus basically a non-event.  But if it keeps the crazies out of CA, your mom is correct - THEY ARE THE WORST THING EVAH!

Also, nearly 100% of new COVID deaths are of Republicans and Fox News watchers. Their 180 turn is just self-preservation.

Great read on that here:  https://www.economist.com/united-states/2021/07/17/the-republican-anti-vax-delusion

"The problem looks even worse—politically, economically and health-wise—where such voters are concentrated. Vaccination rates are lowest wherever Donald Trump romped to victory last November. In Tennessee, where he won 61% of the vote, 43% have had a first dose. In Ohio, a more divided state with a pragmatic governor in Mike DeWine, it is a slightly more hopeful 48%. But in the most conservative Ohioan counties, the rate plummets. In Holmes County where the former president won 83% of the vote, 15% of people have had a first dose. The chances of succumbing to the virus in such places is correspondingly high; 99% of America’s recent covid-19 fatalities had not been vaccinated."

"Fox News’s biggest star [Tucker Carlson] calls a Biden administration effort to step up local vaccination campaigns “the greatest scandal in my lifetime."

"This extreme politicisation has encouraged vaccine-hesitant Republicans to dig in. To be conservative is now to a great degree to be against covid-19 vaccination.”

speaking of CA ...I was reading today that LA is pretty much going back on lockdown
los angeles reinstituted mask mandate indoors despite vaccine status

we may not be going to all the shows we are buying tickets for...

SF is merely "recommending" face coverings, and is considering checking vaccine status at the door to enter establishments instead of requiring face coverings:

LoL. Maybe she should get vaxxed?

Likely, but there are a scary number of breakthrough cases showing up.

So when a black person gets it, they're a breakthrough case, and when a white person gets it, they're a Fox News watcher?
