Through July 31, the Mets had averaged 3.54 runs per game, worst in the majors. Since Cespedes played his first game with the Metropolitans on Aug. 1, they've averaged 6.14 runs per game, most in the majors.

Hoya and I have been talking about this on FB. I'm glad he's no longer in the AL West, though I wouldn't go as far as to say Cespedes for MVP, except to take the piss out of Nats fans....

Astro's had a 0.3% chance of winning in that moment....

On the brightsaide, the Halo's chance of making the playoffs is somehow still about 50x that.

Jesus.  Look at the roiders on that list, and then look at Jon Olerud's 1993 season.  WTF?

I will concede that for this one offensive season, Harper was better than Trout.

But if you add defense, he still hasn't come close, and no GM in their right mind would rather have Harper over Trout.

Wow.  Move it back to 1972 and check out that Dick Allen season!  (still full of 'roiders...)

So who ends up with the #2 WC in the AL?  Throw a blanket on 'em.

How Joe West continues to be employed by MLB is beyond me.

Manfred and Rose met about his reinstatement yesterday. Apparently he'll have a decision by the end of the year.
