Drive By Truckers were great on Friday night in Baltimore. Little talk, all rock. Great perfromances all around, but Jay Gonzalez really shined in his role as 3rd guitar + keys.
Christone Kingfish Ingram and Shakey Graves Saturday at Oregon Ridge was way too fucking hot. I enjoyed the performances, but a far from ideal situation in that heat and humidity. Also, so many people smoking cigarrettes. Usually the festivals I go to have a smoking prison somewhere, and don't allow it otherwise.
Saturday night in Harrisburg for Jason Isbell/400 Unit was worth the drive for sure. Great band at the top of its game. So glad I got to see them, because I cannot get to the Wolf Trap show.

Thank you all that have provided referrals offline and here!!!.

She has made an appointment with a Towson Cardiologist, if she needs a 2nd opinion it looks like K8's friend would be a great option.

We went up to Hershey/Hummelstown, PA and saw Durand Jones and the Indications at The Englewood, which is a really clean an fancy new venue around 1hr 20mins from home in Towson. There is a restaurant and brewpub onsite. We ate in town though because reservations for dinner at the venue were booked up, and then wandered the streets and had a beer at a brewpub/restaurant (Rubber Soul Brewing) in Hummelstown.

We didn't know that there would be an opener, but there was, and she was fantastic: Danielle Ponder. An amazing voice and great charisma, really got the crowd into it, when they had seemed very reserved and almost uncomfortable at the start. Sparkly venue, first show back for many, etc. She really brought chills with that voice, and I looked her up and she is/was a practicing attorney - public defender who is now living her dream of performing.

Durand Jones and the Indications were great. There is a basically a trading of songs between Durand and Aaron, and Aaron's voice still is mystifying. I was next to Danielle and her drummer for the first Aaron song, and the drummer said to Danielle something like: "I just didn't expect that sound to come out of him..."

Anyway, goodtimes, and I hope you all enjoy if you are seeing at 930 on 9/11 (Saturday). Different opener that night though.

Mdou Moctar was mesmerizing. So glad I went.
Very short set; maybe 50 mins?
Also, protip - the new butchery accross the street from the Ottobar in the old Parts and Labor space, serves a really delicious Pizza. Definitely a Top 10 pizza in Baltimore.
