Olodum - Pela Vida
2002 disc by drum-heavy ensemble from Bahia in northern Brazil. Occasionally veers too far into a sort of pop treacliness, but overall a solid album. Just bought it today . . .

Byrne

Slowly And Gloriously
(An EP)
Can't get enough of the song "Sleeping Giant". Sounds a lot like a very refined Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Can't say that the entire EP has that sound though. Oh, no, he has nothing whatsoever to do with David Byrne.

I think I'm in love with you.
You are the very first person on either side of the Atlantic whom I've run across who has ever heard of him!
As far as sounding like BRMC, it's only with the song "Sleeping Giant". Listen to it and you'll notice a very similiar BRMC sound without all the rocking, rough edges.
