Wish I could go, but $25 is kinda steep...and they don't even play most of the music...
-

This has been the topic of the week in the office...Ducks vs. Beavers. I kept my mouth shut...didn't want to piss off the wrong person by saying something about their team. :D

-
OH MAN I'm going to see Wolfmother tonight!! I'm so excited!
-
i'd love to see the new york dolls but i just realized including them, there's 5 bands on that bill and the dolls probably won't go until after midnight. late sunday night shows suck. :(
-
PEACHES! PEACHES! PEACHES! CAN'T WAIT!!!!
-
I'll be at Peaches on Sunday. Hopefully it will be even better than the last!
I'd like to see The Sounds, but the other day the ticket site said there were no more tickets available. Now it works fine. No clue.
-
I'd rather listen to my Blondie records than endure the Sounds...but that's just me.
-
The Brazilian Girls was ridiculous. I was all nekkid on the stage. Just fab.
Heres to being nekkid at Peaches!

based on my experience at the second little steven underground show they run a very efficient schedule... the opening bands get very short sets, all the equipment is setup before hand with shared amps and drums, so the change over is quick. i'm pretty sure the final act was on by 11:30pm that night. still can make for a late night...

Wedding tonight, Hold Steady tomorrow and the Nutcracker Sunday at the Kennedy Center. I got got culture, man.

A fun New York band with a Midwest sound, November 24, 2006
Reviewer: MANUEL J HERNANDEZ "http://askmanny.com" (Orlando, FL) - See all my reviews
Hailed as a great live act, The Hold Steady returned in 2006 with their third album in the same number of years. Listening to them, lots of references came to mind: Bruce Hornsby, Toad The Wet Sprocket, Crash Test Dummies and more. The one running thread through all of the music they bring to mind is great production values to deliver a definitely Midwest sound, in spite of being based out of New York.
The album is made up of a bunch of solid tracks that are captured on record impeccably. With no particular favorite songs within the album, I'd say confidently it's one of the year's most fun releases (along with the new 2006 Arab Straps album), and a band to continue to keep an eye on.

Hold Steady's show will sell out tonite...just to warn you :)

Be sure to arrive in time to check out The Big Sleep! I've been raving to everyone about this band for nearly a year and am very happy to see them touring outside the NYC area.
They recently did a session with WOXY. Here (http://woxy.lala.com/music/loungeacts/index.php?id=144)

"a christmas carol" at the ford's theatre on sunday.
somehow, i'm related to j.w. booth, so maybe i'll see the ghost of president past.
-
Peaches, though I'm really tempted to stop by and see the Supersuckers at the Black Cat first.
Saw Morrissey in Chicago on Tuesday night, it was easily one of the best shows I've seen him do. He opened with "Panic" and closed with "Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want". He did stuff like "Everyday is Like Sunday", "Disappointed" and "The National". I'm really glad I got to check that one out.
-
The Chophouse in Eldersburg, Maryland. Should be rockin'.
-
new york dolls show now sold out just in case anyone was thinking of trying to get tickets at the door.
