Outside Lands Festival - San Fran here I come!
« on: March 24, 2008, 03:41:00 pm »
From Pitchfork:

Radiohead, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Jack Johson (headliners)

The fest has added Beck, Wilco, Broken Social Scene, Black Mountain, Devendra Banhart, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Bon Iver, Drive-By Truckers, Andrew Bird, M. Ward, Nellie McKay, Manu Chao, Regina Spektor, the Cool Kids, Two Gallants, the Coup, Steel Pulse, Lyrics Born, Cold War Kids, Café Tacuba, Little Brother and the Felice Brothers.

The Jack Johnson fan in your life will be sated by appearances from Ben Harper, Widespread Panic, Primus and Galactic, while the Tom Petty contingent will get a boost from Steve "Higher Love" Winwood.

Tell me about it. Best looking lineup of the summer, I'd say.

I'm planning on sitting on my roof and enjoying the show.  No way I'd get that close to that many hippies.

Vansmack, if I fly down with a case of a tasty PDX microbrew of your choice, can I join the roof party? If I want to see hippies, I can walk outside.  :D

Sure, I don't care.  I'd prefer the High Life or PBR, but to each her own.

When Dave Matthews was playing a couple years ago, we could hear just fine from the roof.  At the last Bluegrass festival it was a little muddled - so no promises.  There's a small possibility that we may move to the other side of the city by then, but if we don't, fine by me.  Party at smackies.

actually, if you're desperate to get tickets, go to WASTE - radiohead has them on sale now.  probably cheaper than going through TM (depending on the shipping options WASTE offers you).

edit: total cost on waste for one ticket: $263.25.  ugh.  maybe it isn't cheaper... it wasn't for radiohead, what with their cost of shipping, unless you bought 4 tickets.

from outlands website: "One Ticket will be issued for 3-day entry to festival. Customer must present same ticket each day at gate."  yeah, i'm sure that crowd of hippies won't lose their tickets...

Personally, Coachella's line-up had me swoooning. And I love Devendra!

 He's a weird one though.
