Foos in NYC
« on: September 21, 2007, 12:36:00 pm »
saw the foos last night in NYC - really good concert, not as blown away as i was by the acoustic show but damn solid.  definitely cool to see them in such a small setting.  no opener.  show ran about 1:45 with two encores, including dave on the piano for the second one.  new songs sounded good, but not quite as rocking as classic foos - they all seemed to have violin or cello in them.  i guess dave is maturing...  i had great floor position - 8-10 feet from the front, dead center.  great crowd, aside from a few idiots who insisted on moshing as soon as a hint of rawk came out of the PA.  looking forward to seeing them again during their arena tour, which is supposedly scheduled for early 2008.

hehe, i meant to comment on that just for you, sam    :)     i did sing along at times, although probably not as loud as last time since i wasn't drunk and you've made me self-conscious about participating in foos shows    ;)     the PA was a lot louder so it drown me (and everyone else) out, and i haven't heard the new album yet so no singing to the new stuff - which was about two-thirds of the show.

speaking of the PA - mix was horrible for the first 20 minutes of the show.  they finally figured it out, but guitars and bass sounded horrible until they did.

Exact response I got from my friend who was there.  I'd go see Grohl spit, so was super bummed to miss it, but will hold out hope for something at 9:30 or even Black Cat.
