INFAMY Friday with Codebreaker, Eastman, People's Champ
« on: April 18, 2007, 01:14:00 pm »
Hey gang,

Hope you will join us this Friday as we kick out the jams at Infamy part III! Last month was packed and the party vibe was insane. Don't stop, move it move it, D.C.!!! xo

This Friday, April 20, TAINT and BLISS present INFAMY at 9:30 Club
With live performance by Codebreaker, DJ Will Eastman, special guest DJ Peopleâ??s Champion and visual stimulation by BrightestYoungThings.com!

Indie dance, electro, hip hop, bangers, durty club, britpop

 DJ People's Champion
Recently returned from another DJ stint overseas, DJ People's Champion is back in the District with a fresh batch of bangers to make the dancefloor move in new and exciting ways. With a two year (and counting) residency at Garutachi/(Electro)Tease and the continuing success of his own weekly See You Next Tuesday parties, Mr. Champion is preparing to light up the city even more with a slew of new raves, throw-downs and soirees this summer. Look for him in your favorite (and most despised) establishments in the District or in the dens of iniquity of any other metropolis.

"Codebreaker brings the funk to nu-electro. If you look at mostâ??if not allâ??contemporary electro acts, theyâ??re missing funk. They're like that missing link. But Codebreaker doesnâ??t just deliver
electro-funk. Like one of those cheesy radio stations that promises the best of the 70s, 80s and 90s, but unlike those radio stations Codebreaker really delivers. In a good way."

Hereâ??s what the Washington Post had to say about Infamy last time out:

The first installment of Infamy at the 9:30 club in January was such a hit that its founders are upping the ante. A collaboration between the founders of Bliss, a monthly indie/electro party at the Black Cat, and Taint, a monthly gay indie/electro party at DC9, Infamy's return includes a performance by the danceable Soft Complex, which takes its hints from synth-heavy new wave bands. The party also features DJ Will Eastman and a screening of "Las Historias Mas Mas Sexy del Mundo," a short film by local director Eric Cheevers that features appearances by the Raveonettes, Ian Svenonius and the famously Riddler-like infomercial pitchman Matt Lesko. Sounds like something you won't want to miss.
