Thank goodness I can deduct all my Jenny Craig meals now.

   On April 2, 2002, the IRS announced a new policy (IRS Ruling 202-19) stating that "Obesity is medically accepted to be a disease in its own right." For taxpayers, this means that treatment specifically for obesity can now be claimed as a medical deduction.

can i deduct the price of running shoes and my gym membership that i purchased to prevent obesity?

no...if you read the details you will see that maintainence and prevention are not covered...it's just if you have the "disease" and it's just until you're "cured"  :roll:

Is there any way I can deduct my time spent on the 930 message board because spending time with such learned people I find very theraputic and makes me a much better person.
