me too. it's hard enough to get an impression of people online without having to associate those impressions with different names all the time. yes, you can be anyone online... but let's limit that to one "anyone", m'kay? i don't plan on ever changing my nick.

Ditto.

as i recently changed... i just like to mix it up. but hey, at least i keep some variation of it.

Oddly enough, I was thinking about name changes on the board this morning. It's odd that certain people who have changed their names quite a bit, like Rhett and Dupek, are still known by their original handles, while others, like econo and pollard, aren't.
I'm also in the no change camp...no matter how fucking stupid my name is.

Pair told not to name son '4real' (http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/asiapcf/06/21/name.child.ap/index.html)
WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) -- New Zealand authorities have blocked a couple's bid to officially name their new son "4real," saying numerals are not allowed.
Pat and Sheena Wheaton said they decided to name their new baby "4real" shortly after having an ultrasound and being struck by the reality of his impending arrival.

Hey...you're still a newbie so easy on the rule setting, m'kay? ;) It's just a seasonal itch thing, sheesh. Separate from the chat about moi, I thought Celeste was long gone until I read a thread about someone farting during a show at 6th & I. Thought "Who the heck is that??". (Ah...! ;) )

It's user formerly known as grotty. ;) The only change I've made to my username was to add PDX when I moved to Portland last year.

It all has to do with the character of the person.

I think it has to do with the frequency with which they change their board names. If they had only changed once like Thirsty and Jadetree (I miss her...) did, then after a while we start referencing them by their new moniker. But if you change every month, it's easier just to refer to them by their original moniker.

But then again you think the bboard exists as a business model.

I agree, people calling me a racist, or a troll are just like a stockphoto.
