i love radiohead and bright eyes and some of the other additions, but i can already say that the festival is going to be much more mainstream with death cab and ben folds. i went last year and it was a blast.
-
do they do single-day tickets for bonnaroo?
-
i think this bests Coachella.

that's not a hard thing to do with this year's coachella lineup.
-
Beats Coachella, doesn't come close to beating the Austin City Limits Fest.
-
Bonnaroo > Coachella (this year)
and i guess i will go and figure it to be more mainstream this year, less smelly trustfund hippies.
-
I'm amused by the fact that as it stands now Bonnaroo shares 15% of it's lineup with Coachella, but that with the addition of sone perennial summer shed acts, wait three months and thier back acts, and Radiohead, it's a better festival. Is Radiohead the band that did that "Creep" song?
Looking over the Coachella list it's pretty easy to figure out which DJs etc are performing on a seperate stage.
Why exactly is the Coachella lineup so weak? Is the number of acts people maybe not be familiar with. The Bonnaroo list is a bunch of acts that appeal to 30 year olds wanting to relive college...
-
Bonnaroo has Balkan Beat Box....wow, i may have to go now.
-
I'd say it appeals to fans of acts that have staying power, rather than fans of the latest flavor of the month.
I'll take the Bonaroo lineup over Coachella, too.

Somewhat true, I guess, but for me Elvis, Radiohead, Beck, Bright Eyes, MMJ, Gomez and a lot of the others play a different show each time. Even Petty and the Heartbreakers put on a great show and mix it up.
Isn't someone on here a fan of Devotchka? I've been getting into them lately, nice to see them on the list.
-
That would be me. (And Jag, I believe.) Would be great if they did a rare East Coast tour.

boy arent you grumpy this week.
-
o'mankie step out so i'm taking his place...
-
i'm no fan of big festivals, but there's something to be said for having the opportunity to see tom petty, steve earle, stephen malkmus and bettye lavette on the same bill while also having the chance to heave projectiles at thom yorke. not bad...
-
you wont get close enough to Yorke to hit him with any projectiles...

There's alot of things I would do to see Radiohead, but I don't think going to a hippie fest in Tennessee is one of them. If I do go, I would need to bring this guy:

i hope that all those kids, who've whiffed the sounds around bonnaboob for how many years, and have never attempted it because the thing was for hippy gangsters only until now, will struggle to survive camping on the ground, man, for three stretches of day dawned into night, perhaps getting poured on and turned into moon muddled pies, or nearly trashing vehicles in the trips to and fro, even getting them stuck in cried shouts to drown out the fuck, just to discover that experimenting with mind altering drugs in fresh faced mask toward this town of a roped-off universe . . . can really lead into an orgy of kubrick-ish violence and ultra-stagger- whee.
and then they all come home to be the dirty.
-
Not one hip hop artist? wtf????
