With Mix CDs and Air Drums!
Good News for Smackie, inspiration struck as it often does in the shower this morning. Certain song segments started bouncing around in the noggin and thus a tracklist was started. The list is still a bit fuzzy but here's the straw man.
Are You Ready, Swagger?
Sweet - Ballroom Blitz
Undertones - Teenage Kicks
George Thorogood - Who Do You Love
Prince - Hot Thing
Grandmaster Flash & Furious Five - Scorpio
The Clash - Know Your Rights
The Ramones
The Move - I can hear the Grass Grow
Argent - Hold Your Head Up
Twisted Sister - We're Not Going to Take It
ELO or Delgados - Mr Blue Sky
Robyn Hitchcock - Baloon Man
The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony
I've also got some cool rare 70's Glam stuff I be using this time out. Josie Cotton "Johnny are you Queer" for some reason sprang to mind as well this AM.
Another thought is to sequence this or another list around the seven steps of grief...

Hmmm I'd go with Loaded whichmakes me grin because Peter Fonda sounds a bit like Bush in that...
[Dialogue: The Wild Angels, Peter Fonda's Character]
Just what is it that you want to do?
We wanna be free
We wanna be free to do what we wanna do
And we wanna get loaded
And we wanna have a good time
That's what we're gonna do
No way baby lets go
We're gonna have a good time
We're gonna have a party

Ahhh, if I weren't driving to Sacramento today to meet with CA democrats, I'd tune into Radio Kosmo all day.
Instead, NPR with the Pres laying out his new mandated agenda. Maybe I'll cancel my trip.

For a guy who didn't vote because he didn't really care, you sure have a lot to say about it.
Should we start calling you Tiny_Rhett?

You can call me whatever you want, It's not like we'll be drinkin' a beer together in this life time.

You'd be surprised how small this world is, my friend.

This one is for Cheney's daughter, after all she went through in the vicepresidental debate, this might help her.
I was Dancing in the Lesbian Bar - Jonathan Richman
Well I was dancing at a night club one Friday night
And that night club bar was a little uptight
Yeah, I was dancing all alone a little self conscious
When some kids came up and said, "for dancing come with us."
And soon...
I was dancing in a lesbian bar.
I was dancing in a lesbian bar.
Well I was dancing in the lesbian bar
In the industrial zone.
I was dancing with my friends
And dancing alone.
Well the first bar things were alright
But in this bar, things were Friday night.
In the first bar things were just alright.
This bar things were Friday night.
I was dancing in a lesbian bar.
I was dancing in a lesbian bar.
Well I was dancing in the lesbian bar
Way downtown
I was there to check the scene
And hang around
Well the first bar things were stop and stare
But in this bar things were laissez faire
In the first bar things were stop and stare
In this bar things were lassez faire.
I was dancing in a lesbian bar.
I was dancing in a lesbian bar.
In the first bar folks were drinking sips
But in this bar they could shake their hips,
In the first bar they were drinking sips
In this bar they could shake their hips.
I was dancing in a lesbian bar.
I was dancing in a lesbian bar.
I was dancing in a lesbian bar.
I was dancing in a lesbian bar.
Well in the first bar, things were okay
But in this bar things were more my way
In the first bar things were just okay
But in this bar things were done my way.
I was dancing in a lesbian bar.
I was dancing in a lesbian bar.
Well in the first bar things were controlled
But in this bar things were Rock and Roll
In the first bar things were so controlled
In this bar things were way way bold.
I was dancing in a lesbian bar.
I was dancing in a lesbian bar.
