Anyone going to this? If so would you be willing to pick me up a copy of the tour only EP w/ Colin covering Morrissey songs? I already have tickets to Bob Mould in Annapolis for that night but would like a copy of the EP. thanks.

I plan on going...
I will get you one if you want.
-
hopefully everybody has tickets to Bob Mould in Annapolis that night
-
That'd be great Markie. Just PM me on Saturday and we can discuss payment/pickup/shipping.
Also, I'm a bit worried about my Bob Mould seat, it looks like it's on the side of the stage (maybe Rams Head's version of DAR's 'obstructed view').
-
I wonder which show will be more crowded/ quicker to sell out.
This one on Friday, or Ray Lamontagne on Thursday.
-
probably Ray LaWanttobeKebMo

No problem.... If you are in DC or College Park it'll be easy.....
-
I work in DC, live in Columbia, MD so we should be able to work something out. thanks again.

Ray.
I'm gonna try to go to both.
-
We may try to go to Ray, though I'm not crazy about packed clubs. Like his voice, not sure how much I like his album.

Can anyone fill me in on Ray Lamontagne? RIYL? I honestly haven't heard his name mentioned before.
-
Also, I have gotten word that Amy Annelle will not be playing this show as advertised, since the Places got a gig in NY that night. No one else probably cares, but I think she's one of the best singer-songwriters around.. oh well.
-
bellenseb: I sent you a PM (rather than start a new thread on Ray / take over this one). There are a lot of shows this weekend. I'm not sure I can make all of them - Facism show at Black Cat is this Thurs. too!
vansmack - yeah I wanna see that TV spot.
-
He's someone that I might be interested in seeing, so doubt anyone here would like him. Please don't bother going Thurs.

want to go friday, work until 6 in fairfax. so...dunno if i'm going to get in
-
Show is at 9:30, which means they don't start selling til 8:30, so I'd say you can make it easy as long as you go straight there.
-
I got a copy off of a torrent site last night...all I can say is Colin's version of Everyday is like Sunday is possibly one of the most beautiful covers I have every heard...I am pissed I did not put it on my mp3 player before I left for work this morning.

i'm really psyched for this show ... i haven't been to the iota when it's packed/sold out ... when should i show up to be sure i get tix? the girlfriend and i were thinking about going down for dinner before-hand ...
-
Just try to be at the front door right around 8:30. If you're eating dinner in the Iota Cafe at that time, you're guarunteed admission (they come around) so that might be the easiest option for you.

hunh, thought they started selling earlier. definately sounds better, now
-
I'm under the impression the rule is about an hour before the scheduled show time, but you could call and confirm this if you're worried.

I'll be there for the Colin Meloy show, and tonight to see Willy Mason (http://www.team-love.com/willy.php). How's the food at Iota, btw?
-
There's little doubt that this show will sell out, right?

Well the decemberists sold out the downstairs and upstairs of Blackcat, then had a good showing at 930. I am guessing it'll be busy.

when did they play the backstage? pissed i missed that...
and yeah, the food is pretty good there
-
8.30pm arrival time? and he won't take the stage until about 10.30 i'm guessing? guess i'll need to go straight from the office. i was going to show up around 10 but i think all i'll get is the SOLD OUT sign.
btw, food at iota is ok, not great, kinda pricey. go to singh thai or minh's instead.
-
that backstage show was great
