arafat's impending death is bad enough, but if the israelis don't allow him to be buried in jerusalem...well, anyway, duck and cover...
-
It'll be nothing Isreal can't take care of.

Yesterday there were false reports he had died...I was listening to WTOP in the car and there was some Bush press conference being aired and a reporter told W that Arafat was dead and his thoughts etc....Bush said "god bless his soul" blah blah blah....
Bet that reporter feels pretty silly now.

I think Dubya should go to Paris and see old Yasser on his deathbed, so hopefully hee-haw will catch whatever Arafat has got.
Is it just me or does Yasser look like a really old Ringo Starr?
-
Totally, I think Dupek might lay claim to this one though.

I've been hearing that Arafat is actually dying of AIDS. Anyone know the story?
-
I heard the same thing about Rob Lowe and Bryan Adams when I was in high school in the 80's. Did they die yet?

They may as well have.

I read that he used to have orgies with his bodyguards back in the 80's.

I think it best for all involved if Arafat could be placed in a specially constructed electronic chair a'la Captain Pike on Star Trek. That way he could still make the neccessary decisions required as leader...one beep for yes, two for no.
-
He's really dead this time. (http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/meast/11/10/arafat.obit/index.html)
-
random, he's been (brain) dead since i started the topic (btw, thanks for the qotsa live disc back in the citpaper forum daze)...the politics that followed (and more importantly, have yet to happen) are more crucial than his biological state or lack thereof. his staure among the arab world is analogous to MLK or JFK. consider the importance those leaders' deaths had on our society.
would i were a grad student right now...
sarcasm aside, i consider the racist, apartheid attitude of the israelis to be a moral and strategic cesspool from which the united states cannot easily extricate itself. within my admittedly limited knowledge of diplomacy, i'd rank afafat's death alongside the impending war with iran, in terms of impact with the the average american.
again, i am an amateur. caveat emptor.

Leave it to the NY Post...
