That particular night there is a fundraising happy hour at The Blue Room to benefit Miriam's Kitchen. It's a great way for folks to have fun and help out a great local organization (information below).

Pogo's back? How sweet :D
-
WOOHOO!! You KNOW I will be there, even if it means a crappy day at work the next day!
-
Thanks for the enthusiasm!
I've been working on my tentative setlist today and have been getting excited. ;)
(Yes we did ask permission first, of course!).

Back in the day, a friend of mine hooked a skeptical me into going to my first Panic with these words: "they play The Cult. And I always leave with my hair wet."
I went and she was right on both counts. So, once again (whether or not you play The Cult) I'm looking forward to leaving with my hair wet. :)
-
...though The Cult would be a pretty sweet addition to the playlist.... :D
-
I'm definitely there..the bandmates are likely to come along with our friends...should be a great time!
-
So who is all going to be there for this... Kosmette is looking to celebrate her birthday but would like a gaggle of loons to dance with.
-
yikes this is the same night at DDIHC, guess I can fit both in
-
What's DDIHC?
I'm going to Saccharine...
-
Dogs Die in Hot Cars... Think XTC meets Franz Ferdinand. There are loads of other influences like Roxy Music, Dexy's Midnight Runners.
-
I think Saccharine has the potential to be the most incredible event in world history!
-
It's an understatement to say how excited DJ Strange and I are about this event! Yay!
We are bringing The Cult, and if there are any other song requests for SACCHARINE please post them soon so that we can bring the discs with us.
See you in 2 days - can't wait! :)
Cheers

I am stoked about this. I will be even more stoked if any/all of:
Ladytron
Client
Dubstar
The Faint (not the new album)
Chapterhouse
are played, plus the Standard Array of Britpop Hits.

I hope not too standard... we don't need another Mousetrap. If I hear "I am the Resurrection" one more time, I will strangle someone!
-
What's the story on Between Friends though? I know there was a stabbing there last year and they shut the place down for a while. This seems to be a totally different crowd than what they are used to be attracting. I havent been there, so what's the inside and vibe like there?
-
I heard someone got shot in DC a few years back. Better avoid the city altogether and just stay home!!!

Between Friends is a very large (downstairs) venue which holds approximately 600 people.
The bar is on one side of the room, restrooms on the other, with the large dance floor in between.
Up front is a stage and the DJ area.
In the back is a hang-out/chill out area with seating.
There is a pool table when you walk in (but rest assured, this is NOT a sports bar!).
I'm unsure what goes on there the other nights of the week, but Fridays are events that tend to compliment each other/be slated towards the "alternative" scene.
1st Friday of each month: ElectroTease
2nd Friday of each month: Eclipse
3rd Friday of each month: SACCHARINE (that's us!)
4th Friday of each month: Bound
That said ... I can't believe it's finally here, but it is!!!
I am SO very excited for tonight and for seeing you all at SACCHARINE.
Seems like it's shaping up to be THE best night of my life (yes, I am THAT excited). :)
Friday November 19th (Tonight!)
See you very soon! :)
Cheers
DJ Medusa.

Hey if 200 or so people dressed in club/fetish attire with about 150 or so drunk Howard University students waiting to come inside for an afterhours party and nothing happened, I'd say the place is fine :)
Seriously, the venue does rock and drink prices are not bad, especially if you like killing your stomachs with rail @ $3 a drink and domestic beers are $3. I'm one of the people involved with ECLIPSE and we've not had any issues. They've changed what they allow to be promoted there, etc. No Go-Go shows for starters!
See you tonight and congrats Medusa! :)

Maybe my definition of "hits" is different, but I've always thought Mousetrap sucked. Panic was always awesome.
Alls I'm saying is if it's "Britpop B-Sides" there will be a stabbing :)

anythin's better than Laid!! I even enjoyed "I am the Resurrection" at the last Bliss - nothin' wrong w/a little Stone Roses ;)
-
I like the Stone Roses, but Mousetrap plays that song every time!
-
Either that or Fool's Gold. Glad we're on the same page too, see ya tonight.
-
see you tonight... unlike Panic, this time I won't have to drop a light stick down anyone's shirt for you to recognize me :D

Looking forward to it... Now where did I put that punk rock xmas cd ;)
-
wow, where do I start? First, thanks Medusa and Strange for putting together a great night! Second - Dandy, Bags, Kosmo, nice to see you :) Third -- that was so much fun, and it was especially nice to see most of the regulars from the old Panic crowd dancing and drinking the night away as if two years had not passed.
Oh yeah... fourth -- ow, my aching head. I'm off gin and tonics for good!
-
It's finally here! Please have a look.

you DID play the Cult... I think I was in a crosstown taxi listening to the disco version of "Star Wars" when that came on...
-
I had a GREAT time -- wow, dancing to the Smiths, Depeche Mode AND Interpol and the Killers -- yes! Hell, I even danced alone, just like the old days.
I'll be there every time I can....my friends loved it as well. Quite nostalgic -- even the place reminded me of a club we would have been able to sneak in to underage back in the day.... ;)
Great time, great to see Doom & Kosmo, and I'll be there for Kosmo's hour next month.

I've always liked places where you can dance just on your ownsome and not feel like a dork... where it's about enjoying the music, not about rubbing your hips against some random chick's ass.
