Post by: beedubyah on November 18, 2005, 01:33:00 pm
And I dont see shit on the schedule that interests me. The club has without a doubt housed some of my greatest experiences to date up here. A great venue that Ill never forget....

 Listed in no particular order

 The Music 2x
 Death Cab/Stars
Starsailor (May have been the best show of all of them)
 Soundtrack of our Lives 2x
 Interpol 2x
 Secret Machines 2x
 Kasabian 2x
 Wilco
 Doves
 Snow Patrol
 Stills/Metric
 Vines (worst set)
 Muse
 Rooney (free tickets)
 Phantom Planet/WSC (obligation)

There are probably a dozen other shows that Im spacing on...and this is just at 930.

Now I just need a grand finale, but which one? Any chance others will be added?  What is up with these effing jam bands?

Was one of the best shows of my life. I came in bringing a lot of friends telling them that I liked the albums and they should be pretty good. Absolutely blown away. The second James Walsh opened his mouth, my jaw dropped and I was in a trance for about 90 minutes.

Flawless show and one of the best voices out there...Hoping I would catch them one more time before I leave but it looks like theyre going to be here in February.

I was counting on Asheville and Athens helping me out in that regard. Both are within 1.5 hours, but Ive been a bit disappointed. Asheville is way too granola for me and Athens only has quality acts every 2 months or so.

Got to see Metric there which was a great show and would have loved to have seen Editors/Stellastarr but was out of town.

Asheville is very hippie/patchouli,that's for sure....but,keep an eye on the Orange Peel.......for some reason in the last couple years they have booked some bands that I NEVER thought would be playing there...........talk about a fertile audience for the jam band scene....

Actually, I lived in Asheville for three months back in 1999 and liked it a lot. Great city. and they have very good shows, would go there on the weekends and for shows.

not to sound like the previous poster, but i lived near asheville for 4 months in 98 (then moved to DC)
I actually really loved asheville. it's a litte hippie-ish, but it's amazingly good for artisans and the like.
there was also a neat little club called "be here now" i think. that  place was good.
i'm actually going there on vacation in july. i can't wait.
i (and i have no qualms admitting this) really love the Biltmore.
